When choosing a job, it is said that working for government is the best option since aside from serving your country, the security of tenure is assured. However, you have to wait for years before you can really enjoy the fruits of your labor, after retirement. While in private companies, lots of perks and bonuses may be given while you are still working. Given the chance to choose, will you work in government or private company?

I have tried working on both :) When I was is private gov't, no GMA/Pinoy for year end while Gov't office has. For Gov't offices, you work standard 8am to 5pm daily while private has weekend on-calls :) and you can't even complain about it. Whenever you are requested to work beyond 5pm or work weekends, then that should be on an OVERTIME. Aside form the retirement claims, the security is really why some desired to be working on a Government office. You have Civil Service Codes that secures you. No high positioned boss can for you for no valid reasons at all. Not because they don't like you, or hate you, or annoyed at you- as long as performance wise you are satisfactory- no boss could ever kick you =) The Government & the Public owns the office. But to private firms- the owner owns it, and it's just out of Civil Service scope of authority :) Well - whichever you are employed, if you are happy and goes well with boss and officemates- Private or Government won't matter at all anyway. Cheers and good day!

I prefer private company because your boss will go you sometimes a bonus such as good performance or christmas bonus. When you work in a government company, You will have only christmas or holiday bonus. If I give up, I will put a business. Business is the best option rather working in private or government company.

Well there is no graphic artist when it comes to government companies, maybe a web designer. So I have no choice to choose but the private company.

Hi friend! I am presently working with the government and I can say that I love it here if I would have to compare it with my previous job. But I know that there are also some private companies who pay better than other government offices. However, what the government can offer is the security of tenure which may not be offered in private organizations. How about you, are you working in the government? Have a nice day?

Some people prefer to work in the government sector, the benefit is far better than the private sector. But it depends on the benefits that will provide by the private companies, if it will compensate the same thing in the government. Then it is fine to work in that certain company.

I am now working in a private company and also looking forward to work in a government also for me to differentiate the two. hehe. I think there is one requirement for the government agencies for us to be able to be fit and qualified and that is to posses the "Eligibility". We should pass first the Civil Service Exams for us to be said as illegible enough to apply on government agencies.

hi, we all know that working for government is the most better rather than to private companies because when compare them there are many benefits we could receive as a government employee rather than to private companies,if i have a chance to choose of course i will choose to work in government.

I have worked for both private and government organizations. And I must say I still prefer working for the government. Maybe because the agency I have worked for is all supportive about caring and making sure that the staffs receive the benefits due them as well as other perks and bonuses as mandated by the office, as well as those project based ones that were really successful.
