There are a lot of vigilante shows on right now. Nikita started as one with Nikita and Alex trying to take down Division and now that they have succeeded, it has evolved into them trying to bring in and save division agents that Percy put out in the field. Person of Interest is another one with Reece and Finch trying to save people when the machine serves up their number and even though they are now aided by a couple of cops, they are still vigilantes. Then new this fall is Arrow with the Green Arrow character trying to rid the city of the evil guys; a true vigilante who has the cops also after him. Also new it Beauty and the Beast in which the beast has been rescuing people and he is also helping the detective who was one of his first rescues nine years previous to the setting of the show; he is trying to avoid being captured or killed by the people who turned him into a beast. The Mentalist is almost a vigilante show with Patrick Jane as a consultant with the CBI(California Bureau of Investigation) who helps them close many cases but who is really out to get Red John, the serial killer who killed his family; he has and will go full vigilante if the thinks he has found Red John.
