I am not sure if it is a myth or indeed a medicine- eating lizard is believed to cure asthma. I've heard this from our old folks- but I don't think I will ever let my kid eat lizard whether it is alive or cooked one

Some even take new born mice live. I don't think I be able to swallow all these alien stuff for health sake.

Even me cant imagine myself eating those thing. I'd rather wait my time to die than eat those things. Herbal medicine are okay with me but mice? New born mice or lizard, no way!

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), most of the ingredients are herbs. Yes, there is the like of lizards, snakes, bees and bats, but it is rarely used. I have tried many of the herb based medicine and I swear that they works.

i would want to try alternative medicine. but not to the extreme. i'd try herbals sure enough. plants were the medicine used in ancient times. i don't even want to know what a live lizard is used for. i think these people are only after fame, if it be so called. or perhaps just an old superstition that has no basis, or a wrong notion of one.

I can take some as long as it is proven safe. There are some herbal content medications that are endorsing by the experts. I think it is fine to avail some of the items.

There lives one man who is trying to prove that our food choices are all based on culture and prejudice. His name is Louis Cole, he has a youtube channel called "Food for Louis" where he eats absolutely everything from live tarantula to frogs, scorpions, lizards and what not. He argues that if we are not vegetarians, then we kill animals and eat them in the most basic sense of the word. He is just doing this very same thing in a very different way. I could not help but remember him while writing my response. But no, I am not a follower of his principles and I am never going to eat a lizard alive, or for anything else alive, even if it is scientifically proven to bring me immortality. I guess I will take my chances being sick rather than trying such methods.

I do try alternative medicine especially herbal medicines. However, I wouldn't think lizards would be one of those alternative medicines that I will ever try. It's one of those superstitious belief people would believe like what my mom used to say that you should wash your face with the blood from your first menstrual period. I know it's really grouse but a lot of people in our country still believe that.

I don't really believe in alternative medicine... I tried homeopathic "medicine", so an alternative type of medicine which is still said to be useful, and not some idiotic mumbo-jumbo like eating an alive lizard, and it still made my condition WORSE. So... well, if I had a really heavy disease, and I could not cure it by proper antibiotics, I would try alternative medicine as long as it's not disgusting or dangerous, I guess.

Well,if someone has a problems and sees that normal medicine has no idea how to relieve it,it would be normal for that person to seek help in other places. No one wants to know that there is nothing that can be done to help them. Other than that,I personally wouldn't adventure myself in the unknown part of medicine.

I would consider alternative medicine. Especially if I had already tried going to my doctor and taking care of my condition in the traditional sense and had no luck. As long as its nothing too crazy I don't see any harm in trying. Worst case you don't like it and don't try it again. Many methods of alternative medicine have been around for hundreds of years and some are known to work.
