While I was browsing for some topics to respond to, I saw one post that just reminds me of my dog. So, I clicked on it and responded. I went on typing and typing and typing until my comment reached too many lines. It's like I'm making a new discussion. So, I changed my mind, I copied and pasted it into a new discussion. What was I thinking? It's too long for a response. Have you guys done that? Changing your mind, making your comment to be a discussion instead.

Who ever starts a discussion, we must share if we are interested. No I dont turn my comment into a discussion. Rather I start the same topic with different aspect of it. For example if some one starts about dogs food. I can start about dogs disease and medication. Anyway a discussion is just like a flower whom we will all help blosom or develope so that it can scater a fantastic fragrance to all of us.

At some point, I agree with you kashidanga.. But it was a lovely that I just wanted it to be part of my discussion. @ms. Hatley, I think kashidanga is inspired. I guess too that you're making some poems. Do you? If not, like ms.hatley said, you should.

Yep, I've done that in the past - started writing an answer and realised that I was wasting good material.. I have done similar things with blog posts too - I get halfway through a post and realise I can use this as a series rather than just a one-off... Sometimes our 'pen' just runs away with us and the 'ink' is flowing, the stream of conciousness is open and we are off!

I have a blog that I started to investigate paid-to-blog programs, it's a mixture of things because it has about half paid postings and about half my own posts, it's not always easy to think of stuff to write. I have a blog that was set up to follow the 'Credit crunch' - it's a general finance/politics blog now... I have some websites too, but not enough time to keep updating everything

Do you work for blogs too? I haven't done any good reading blogs so far. I wanted to write a story but words are just so off the key.

Wow, you do have lots of blogs. I have one account but merely a bloag about myself. So, it's boring. I wanted to try but I guess it isn't the time. I cannot finish a piece. Goodluck on your blogs!

Never of a talker myself, I don't respond too many as you put it. If I can get few lines as a response that is enough for me. Sometimes I do get talkative but never been too many that I should put it as my own new discussion. Sometimes the responsibility to comment back on the responders gets me thinking...

So, you just poured your soul onto the discussion...? It's good to be able to exchange experiences and knowledge or even just to relate to what you are feeling right now... that's why we are all still here after sometimes, right?

Yup, a good place to be, where lots of friends will listen to you and give you advices. And most of all, some share the same experience. Which gives me a feeling of not being alone in a certain situation.

Hi Jennyze! I didn't notice the typing I made. So I thought of making it as a discussion. I saw some comments that's longer than my discussion and it's like, WOW...

I have changed my mind mid stream like that before. I agree that since you had lots to say in that response that it was a great thing that you made a new discussion on it. Sometimes thats how new discussions are born.

I hear that. I sometimes struggle for something to write about. We all have those writers block days.

It was one of fortunate days here. Because most of the times, I wanted to start a discussion but really cannot come up with a good one.

Yeah, sometimes I was just about to comment then I leave the page. Sometimes, reading alone satisfy me already thought I know we don't earn just by reading. Whatever! Being in this site reading makes me happy anyway..

okay once no twice more lost two responses to something.I thought I was the only one to take a too long response and make it into a discussion.I really must have hit a spontaneous chord with others as I really got a lot of responses about seeing this man in his cage thirty feet up trimming a huge tree. So my instinct was a really good one that time.Hope yours was too and you got a lot of nice responses to your discussion too. Now those trees he butchered look like trees in a science fiction novel all bare and twisted and ugly. but they tell me they will bush out'again and be lovely and green once more.I know if I was thirty feet up in a cage I wou ld be screaming'get me down.

It didn't happen to me yet, since my number of discussion have not reach 500 yet. There is this rule that you're only allowed to copy-paste when you participate to MyLot's discussions 500 times. But it occured to me so often that by just leaving comments inspire to write another topic regarding the comment that I post. Like, right now, I'm thinking of another topic about this.

Oh, well soon you will have another option, to copy and paste it as a new discussion or just make another one with the same thought.

Yes, this happens with me many times. Instead of posting my comment, I decided to start a discussion. I am sure this also happen to other mylotters.

Yes, it happens to them too but for some who cannot copy and paste yet, they have no choice but to just post the comment. Thanks!

Hi adnileb Well, this hasnt happened with me as you describe. But yes, I will be honest, here have been instances when I found a discussion (and sometimes my response too) to go for a new discussion - the inspiration kind of thing. Of late there was one from me which was inspired by Ms Bingskee's discussion. But there hasnt been anytime when I thought I should go for a new discussion instead of responding on one.

Hi sid.. I was thinking to still comment on that discussion yesterday but I refused. The whole of my supposed to be comment was the one I put on the discussion box. And it's so long that I just wanted it to post. Sometimes, the inspiration thing comes to my mind too. But still, I am trying not to make it so similar.

The first one that I started. It was the one that supposed to be a comment which I chose to make a discussion. It was the topic I am referring to here in this discussion.

Oh, okay. I can see you only started 6 discussions. So you only focus on responding to posts. Why are you not fond of writing out discussions?

Hi friend, good to know that you converted a comment in to a new discussion. This kind of incidents never happened to me. There is nothing wrong in your activity, if you placed the comment, you don't get a lot of replies and other persons views to your comment, but your topic will help you to get more replies and come to know about various views, as well as you can make a lot of comments to each and every reply. Finally a single comment made you to create a topic which lead you to place a lot of comments

Yes, and also made me think and miss my dog again because of that comment. How I love to do that, commenting and then some ideas will pop up. It's so hard to think of any topic that's why I grabbed the opportunity.

hi there... no not really... never tried that but there is a certain discussion that might lead me or leaded me to make a new discussion because from the gist of the story, a new discussion had been made out from it even from the title alone and not on reading on the body of the story itself. but would like to share experience as i downloaded a picture and as i put some caption to it, i narrated the story long, so instead putting things that way, i copied and pasted it to the discussion box and i shortened the label of the picture i used to download. so that was it... thanks :)

I have seen several comments that have been made by people that are extremely long.. It really depends on the discussion; sometimes the longer explaination is necesary to give a complete thought.. And or there are some topics that really inspire to write.. If my comment gets long but it is within the topic that the other person start I post it.. But if I have questions or something that would completely side step the current discussion yes I will start my own discussion..

Um, I think I just made my comment so descriptive. It will surely give a complete thought for the discussion but I thought to just make it for my own instead. Thanks!
