Well being in the US we have Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner. For Thanksgiving I usually go visit my parents a few days before and celebrate with them by cooking a huge dinner. Then I come back to Atlanta and we cook all night the night before and then have a huge dinner, remember what we are thankful for and then just lie around and watch movies together! It's a great time! Then we usually start decorating for Christmas. I do so love it! The decorations, the smells and sounds of Christmas are all so wonderful. And then remembering and celebrating the birth of Jesus! Such an awesome time of the year!

i also love Christmas for the same reason you do. It is the time when we celebrate the birth of Jesus. after all, Jesus is the reason for the season. Here in Canada, our Thanksgiving is in October but we do have Christmas to look forward to. i have so much to do between now and then!

Definitely here in my country we celebrate Christmas, it is the most celebrated moments all year round. As for me, I will make it a point that I'll be at home during those holidays, I'm based miles away from home and I used to travel for several hours. The usual, we exchange gifts, have a hearty meal, exchange stories with my loved ones. Also,go to a mass at a church service. Thanks

We celebrate christmas with lots and lots of food. I love it. And we also give out presents. Thanksgiving sounds like a lot of fun too! But of course we don't celebrate it in Europe. We usually decorate the christmas tree like a week, or 10 days before christmas, I still enjoy doing that. We don't go overboard with christmas decorations though. I think those reindeers you see outside sometimes and the santa's are just kind of tacky.

The past few years it has been very quiet holidays for me. With most of the money goes to making sure bills are paid up to date, we don't have much left to do holidays. I currently live with one of my daughters and her fiance' Thanksgiving, we make a nice meal, nothing over doing it. Just a bit more than we usually would make for dinner. Enjoy the day together cooking together. Eat dinner and relax. Christmas is a repeat of Thanksgiving, with calls I make to my family in another state. Other than that, we don't have extra's to do the fancy decorations and lights. We take time to enjoy those we see in our travels around the area. There are some beautiful displays every year. Holidays basically are just spending a bit more time with each other. Is all we have to give at this time. We all know and it is ok.

Well that's what's important anyway. It's not the money and gifts, or lack there of, it's being able to spend quality time with those you love and care about. I hope your holidays will be all you hope for and more.
