If Sir Alex didn't buy van Persie, will United be the same?

Robin van Persie is the top goalscorer for Manchester United, and also for the league. Everyone knows that van Persie is a goal machine for United, and even when he in Arsenal last season (where Arsenal are strugling to hold their UCL spot), he manage to be the top scorer of the seasons. The questions is, will Manchester United be the same as now without van Persie? Will they manage to get to the top the table with their current squad?

Manchester United is the same Manchester United, w - Manchester United is the same Manchester United, with or without RVP.
How would Manchester United survive without the great Robin van Persie? He almost single-handedly pushed Manchester United to what they are at the moment with his splendid goals. His goals contributed 10 points so if his goals were not counted, Manchester United would be just in the 9-10th place shared with Newcastle in the league table. RVP is a real mean scoring machine. But football is not mathematics. Without RVP, Welbeck and Hernández would have got more playing time and that Rooney would have carried more scoring duties. The three of them may even score more goals than what it is now with RVP playing. Who knows? So the answer is, Manchester United is the same Manchester United, with or without RVP.

thanks for your opinion. And I think I agree with you too. A manager have to come up with great strategies to put his men into max performance, and that can be no problems for Sir Alex because he is a great manager.

I think Van Persie is a good buy but i think if they never sign Van Persie, players like Rooney and Welbeck will get more chance on the ball and i believe both of them can do the job for Manchester United. Seriously Van Persie is not a very good long term investment considering the amount of money they are paying to Arsenal and i doubt Manchester United can recoup the money spent but hopefully Van Persie could bring tittles back for Manchester United

It is good deal done by Sir alex ferguson to bring down Van persie to old traford. The forward has helps the new team to the top of barcalys premier league table. Not very easy he comfortable in that place.

I think Van Persie is showing up as a great buy for Man United. Already Van Persie is scoring bucket full of goals both in the league and in Champions League. Arsenal must really be rueing their decision to sell him to Man United which was highlighted best when Van Persie scored against Arsenal last week. Cheers! Ram

Well, I am not sure in fact. Robin Van Persie scored a lot but because of him, Rooney scored less and Chicharito is now on the bench. So it's very hard to pretend. Soccer is a very complex sport that the tactics are essential. Some players are incredible but they could be harmful for the team when the tactics are incompatible with their style. In the last season you'd see that Robin Van Persie almost eat most goals of Arsenal. It's very hard to say whether it's a good thing or not. If Sir Alex didn't buy Robin Van Persie, I think he could also design good tactics for Rooney and Chicharito. Both of them are incredible strikers.

Problem with Man Utd last and this season has been their defence and midfield. With the addition of Van Persie, Man Utd now has such a strong attacking force that it cover their faults and basically tried to outscore the opponent. How Van Persie single-handedly save Arsenal season, he should be able to do the same for Man Utd. That itself is worth quite a few points. And in such a tight league, those points can and will make or break a season.

I don't think this question makes any sense. Ofcourse if van Persie was not there united will win matches. A game never depends on one person alone, it depends on the entire team. Man utd have played last season without van persie and have done good job. ROONEY is my favourite :)

yeah, it can be. If there is not Van Persie now, MU will loss its goal-getter. I think if that will be happen, that would depend on what Sir Alex will do after that. And if it is happen, I think Fergie would play formation like last season with rooney as FW and Nani backing him ups.

It is a good buy, I think united should cash in now and sell shrek - Lets face it, he is a little over rated - why would you need him if you have RVP?
