Did you have a role model growing up? If so, who/whom?

I guess all in all it would have to be my grandmother and my mom. Both were/are very strong women and they taught me a lot. They taught me most of all that no matter what, persevere, stay the course. It's had sometimes but they were right. My grandmother passed many years ago but I still hold her in my heart and heed her words. My mother is a very strong woman. She had a terrible life and she has a rare form of cancer that there is no treatment for, no cause, no cure. She is in a great deal of pain daily but she manages to push forward. I am thankful for both of these women.

My Grandma and Great Grandma were my role models. I would sit and talk to both for hours, actually, I still have my Grandma, she just turned 94 and I love listening to her life learned lessons. Oddly enough, someone else that was a great role model was someone I didn't know personally. Michael Landon, all the lessons learned from watching Little House on the Prairie and Highway to Heaven. Seems to me we need more people like him these days but where to find them? Someone with great morals and values and a way to teach them to others they can reach.

Michael Landon was indeed a wonderful man. He held true to his beliefs and morals, and if you notice, you didn't read about him in the tabloids. He lead a good, true life and it was reflected in the shows he did. He is truly missed. To find someone like that as a leader or inspiration is so difficult. People are blinded by greed and that need for money. Anyway, sorry, I love that you liked the stories your grandparents told, I love listening to them as well. You can learn so much from our elderly.

My aunt, my grammy, and my god parents.. My grammy was there from the beginning.. She was there when I was born.. She has taught me alot about life.. I would say she is the one that taught me most about nature, we would take long walks down different nature trails.. Teaching me all of the different names for the trees; showing me different animal tracks, and all kinds of cool things about nature.. She is also a master gardener.. She has beautiful flower and vegatable gardens every year.. Even now she is a wonderful role model; she doesnt allow anything to get in her way.. She has such a positive outlook on life.. I think over the years I there hasnt been too many negative things that came out of her mouth.. Regardless of the situation she would only focus in on the positive.. My aunt she took me in when I was a young adult that thought I knew everything.. I didnt know as much as I thought I did.. She will tell to you straight up; if you want someone to sugar coat it dont talk to her.. Thats what I love most about her.. Even if I dont appericate at the time.. I learned quite a bit.. I thought being a house wife just consited of laundry, dishes, vaccuming, and picking up after others.. She expanded my horizons quite a bit.. I was very neive about a lot of things.. I didnt really know how to act in public versus at home.. We ended up going to college together.. That was a lot of fun.. I could go on and on about all of the things she has done for me over the years.. But that would be a discussion that would be miles and miles long.. To some it up best; she took me under her wings and taught me all about life where others couldnt or wouldnt.. She is a jack of all trades.. Thank you auntie My God parents have been there for me in a way that no one else can.. They are the only couple that I knew before getting married and they are still together after 16 years of marriage.. This is something that you do not see as much as you use too.. When ever I have questions about rasing boys I go to them.. They have three..There are quite a few more things they have taught me throughout the years.. Thank you
