Well, here's a controversial topic that had me thinking as well, honestly I think it is possible for guys and gals to be just friends, cause I have a lot of friends and I treat them all equally no matter what gender they are. I don't feel the need to hide a certain stuff for guys only or for gals only, I just talk about all I know depending on the topic of conversations.
How about you guys, you think it is possible?

It is possible for a girl and a boy to become good friends, but after a while feelings changes and one way or the other, one of them will start to have feelings for each other. I am talking from experiences here. I no longer get too close to a guy because of this, they always end up falling in love with me and it makes the situation difficult. I guess we are all humans in the end and cannot avoid these feelings. :)

Well, I'm a guy, speaking from experience, either you have a great personality or you're pretty, well I actually think that guys like me just gets raging hormones at a certain age which leads to having a lot of crushes, so I always try to force myself to hide my feelings to a great extent, because a thing I read about is that when you become more than friends with someone it's a point of no return, you either become a couple or when it fails you can never become friends again, and I don't like taking that risk especially to some of my friends of the opposite gender in which I feel more comfortable with,and that seems to work well.

Lol it is funny how you said that ' I must have a great personality or I'm pretty, that's why guys get attracted to me. So you have got raging hormones that makes you wanna turn your friends into your lover, interesting.... I also do not like taking risks when it comes to friendships.

Well not exactly, but guys tend to fall in love more. I might have fallen for some of my friends of the opposite gender, but I can keep my emotions in check so that I might not do anything stupid and shout what I feel!

Yes, I do believe that it is possible for a guy and a girl to be real good friends and be close without any intimate relationship between them. I have guy friends since from high school but since I am already married, I could not be with them coz my husband would not approve of it. But I still do keep the friendship although we just communicate through sms or Facebook.

well, I think that having friends of the opposite gender is quite good as well, I sometimes feel a lot comfortable talking to the other gender regarding my problems, cause they seem to give better advice than my friends of the same gender.

I do think it is possible for girls and boys to be just friends. It just that the relationship gets complicated when they reach adolescence. For instance Feelings may develope. Another complication you may have is that you can't talk about everything (some things are ment for just the girls). One way to keep the friendship going is by keeping the communication going and being honest with each other. If you do have good boundaries I don't see why not of course girls and boys can be just friends.

Well, I think I'm old enough to be considered adolescence, well I honestly talk to the opposite gender about nearly everything, even boy talk, cause she does not seem to mind, and I share any thoughts or events that happen to me occasionally to all my friends no matter what gender.

I thought before that boy and girl friendship is impossible because almost all of the girls that become my close friends also became my crush. But I prove to myself that boy and girl friendship is really possible.
Because right now, I have many close friends who are girls. And my best friend right now is also a girl. I don't see anything wrong with that

Good for you then, well I also though the same back then, cause I'm socially awkward chatting with girls, but after getting to know some, I had many friends of the opposite gender as well. It's actually much easier to get friends of the opposite gender rather than of the same gender, as I noticed.

I am mostly friends with guys. I am in the military and I'm used to being around them. Also it seems like they're just a little more relaxed and fun to me. I tend to have more in common with guys as well. My boyfriend is not thrilled about this but he accepts it.

Well, I have a friend that is a girl but mostly hangs out with guys as well, and she is in a relationship as well. I don't think his boyfriend minds that though.

I think that is possible to do that, but the point is you have to keep your feeling for make friendship forever. And based my experience, That's very difficult. Not every one can hold their feeling to some body if that man/woman have nice attitude. But some times we can hold our feeling. It depend us to control our feeling

Yeah, I think it is quite hard to resist someone with a nice attitude, and I think that I read somewhere that if you become more than friends, if it fails, you can never be just friends anymore, so it is better to control out feelings rather than losing a good friend.
