My boyfriend has a cold and I want him to get well as soon as possible so he can get back to work and a normal life. Sometimes I make a lemon/honey tea, but I'm curious what I can make to have better results. What do you usually make when you have a cold?

Here in Mexico people drink lemon tea with honey when someone has a cold.

I like that addition. In fact, we add here some pisco (made from grapes). You can use tequila in Mexico, Maria

We do the same in my country, but we have an Aspirin with the hot tea. All we can do when we have a cold is to take pills for headaches or other pains associated with it. But the cold will go away by itself as ir is produced by a virus

When I or members of my family have a cold thry get vicks vapor rub on the chest and soles of the feet. Then they are given horehound tea made with raw honey, lemon and the herb horehound. Home made chicken soup is also good for the flu and colds. Get a stewing chicken and add some carrots celery onions and garlic. seasoned with cuman turmeric sage and rosemary. Stew this until the chicken is full cooked. remove the vegetables and serve the broth

Any tea with Hibiscus is great as it is very high in vitamin c. Also cinnamon, clove and mint teas are all good. Clove causes numbing so is good for a sore throat.
