Yesterday was my birthday, but seems no one remember it.no gifts,no phone call,no blessing,no one mentioned it. though I didnot expect any present yet how come no one says anything ? welll...maybe i'm expecting too much.my parents they never celebrate their birthday, even my mom,she did not when is her birthday at all. I miss so much when i was a kid,i celebrated birthday every year,it's all about cake, prents, blessing, party,my parents prepared well for me. when i grow up,went to college, i seldom celebrate my birthday any more, some one said we should celebrate our birthday because this is a date we birth, the very beginning of our life.No matter we ar doing good or bad ,we should appreciate our life and our monther,do you agree with me ?

This monday is birthday of my daughter. As usual we prepared gifts and cake to celebrate like most of parents. In this world parents alwsys remember their child's birthday but few of sons or daughters would record parent's birthday. I agree your points, birthday is an important day for everyone since it's the beginning of life and love.

I have never ever had that happen or even thought about it. i really dont think it would bother me that much. I know my son or dad would never forget my birthday. But I dont think it will ever happen to me anyway. have a great day there.

Hi Mintlin, Belated happy birthday. Well at my age, i prefer no fuss for my birthday and a simple greetings from love ones and friends will already make me happy. But honestly I will feel sad too if no one remembers to greet me hence i know how you've felt. However, every living human being had to be thankful for another year and other gifts of life like health, family, friends and everything you now have and enjoy and, you are lucky to be one who have these. Cheers!.

I started not to care about people remembering when my birthday is. My birthday falls on summer vacation here in the Philippines, so I'm used to having only my family greet me. It's a miracle if the people you call "friends" remembers your birthday without really getting reminded by Facebook that it's your birthday.

LOL,that's quite right.in my childhood,i've always remember my friend's birthday, i marked them clear in the calendar and i prepared little presents for them on their birthday.however,it seems most of my friends they are very forgetful,if i donot remind them ,they will forget my birthday at all.

I'm one of those people too who remembers their friend's birthday but those friends forget mine. Most people though asks the obvious when you thanked someone for greeting you and they ask, "It's your birthday?" It's too fake to be greeted that way, you know.

Awww.. It's sad that no one seems to remember your very special day. Eventhough we are getting older it still feels wonderful when someone special greet us on our especial day. As for me, I don't care if there is no birthday cake, no present, no celebration, what important is our loved ones won't forget to say happy birthday to us.. I wish you another fruitful year.

First things first! Happy Belated Birthday! I don't usually feel bad if I don't get a little party, I don't think anyone should have to make a big deal over me. I do, however, like people to at least call and say happy birthday. Last year, my boyfriend was out of town, my daughter met me at the gym earlier in the day and said happy birthday and she was the only one I had seen that day. By 9pm I was upset that my sons, boyfriend or sister hadn't called and decided that I would just go out and go to the movies on my own. My sister called while I was on my way to the movies and the went with. Then we went out, had a good time. I think I get more birthday wishes on facebook than from anywhere else! Next year, I just might make an announcement on there that I am going out and anyone that wants to meet me somewhere, we will go.

It is ok for me if there are no birthday greetings or even not remembering my birthday at all. I am still proud of myself and happy. I have more friends greeted me especially in Facebook. Most of them are my classmates or even classmate. They just leave a short message of birthday greetings.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY I am sure it makes you sad. Thu we are old enough for birthdays and parties and we shouldn't be bother much with greetings, still it is different if we hear and receive greetings from friends and loved ones. My facebook is flooding with greetings since last night. I also posted a topic regarding this because it's my birthday too

I don't usually feel bad if people forget my birthday. And I don't thing anybody should remember my birthday. And now as I'm working out of my hometown. So I don't celebrate my birthday. Everyday passed in our life won't come again. So I'd like to try to enjoy my life everyday instead of spending all my good life wait for one special day. But if somebody greeting me on my birthday I do feel more exciting on that day.

Belated Happy Birthday Mintlin. It is very sad when no one remembers your birthday. But God remembers it. He gave you blessings on that day. The morning you wake up is a gift from God. God will not call you through phone but let you see by vision. The wind that whispered your ear is a whisper from God saying Happy Birthday my dear. There are people who are not celebrating their birthdays. They do not want to feel they are getting old. But that doesn't mean they did not appreciate that day. When you want people remember your birthday, plan ahead of time. Invite them to attend to your birthday celebration. No need for big celebration. Just one or two dishes and drinks are fine. People in the world are too busy to remember dates even your closest friend. They may remember it, but forgot to greet. You are not expecting too much... you just miss your family. Happy mylotting.

I don't celebrate my birthday at all and am glad when people forget. It is too much pressure and I am not a gifts person.. I would however be with close friends for a nice dinner and have some fun. There is too much made of presents for every little thing and people come to expect it. I have no expectation. See? You were disappointed when you did not receive one. I would call a friend and go to a movie or have a nice dinner in a restaurant.

Oh, dear Mitlin, it was my birthday yesterday too. If nobody remembers my birthday of course I will be sad but don't worry, what is important is that you reached your birthday this year and you aren't sick.

Hi, you're right.when we grow up, hardly we celebrate birthdays.and there have been situations where we forget our own birthdays. but for me,i used to celebrate birthdays only at childhood.now i myself dont find any interest in celebrating my birthday, one reason might be that with the passage of every birthday,i am getting older and closer to life's end.. :(

I'm at the age now where it really wouldn't bother me all that much. I actually sometimes forget that my birthday is close until someone reminds me. I think the only way that I would become upset is if mu kids didn't call to wish me a happy birthday. Don't care about the presents, just the greetings.

I experienced that a lot of times in my childhood and teenage life. LOL. My birthday unfortunately falls on a vacation. It's on May 1st. Students don't go to school on my birthday. It's summer vacation here. In addition, it's also a national holiday here in our country. However, when I was 21 years old. I celebrated my birthday at school. It was a Thursday I guess. Our holiday was moved to Friday. So we studied on my birthday. I was so happy because my classmates greeted me. At last, I was able to spend my birthday at school. Nowadays, I celebrate my birthday at work if it falls on weekdays and at home when it falls on weekends. My close friends, family members and facebook friends usually greet me on my birthday. Greeting me is enough. I also don't expect gifts. Belated Happy Birthday to you. Yes, it's a very special day. Our mom gave birth to us. It's ours and our moms day actually. May you have more birthdays and blessings to come. Happy mylotting.

Of course, I feel bad if no one tries and attempts to greet me. Texting Happy Birthday with me is not that too much effort. There are a lot of freebies nowadays of the telephone companies and if no one dares to call or text me at least the initials "HBD" I would feel bad and not that so much important person to my love ones.I noticed that as we grow older, celebrating our birthday is not that too important anymore. As we are being healthy and having a great family as we grow old, that would be enough.

For me, Birthdays must be celebrated and should be thankful to God for giving another year to live. However, don't be sad that no one greets you, as you have said even your parents did not celebrate their birthdays. They maybe used to not celebrating birthday that is why they did not greet you. Maybe one day, talk to your parents and tell your opinion that birthdays need to be appreciated. In that way, they would know your feelings, maybe in time everything will change. Belated Happy Birthday! God Bless
