Number 300 will be the last Hellblazer issue. Can't believe they're canceling such a long running series. Hellblazer is a comic book series featuring John Constantine, cynical occult detective magician and a con man. Created by Alan Moore, he first appeared in Swamp Thing but soon got his own series, Hellblazer, in 1988. One thing that is characteristic about the series is that John is aging in real time. So he's in his 60s now and I guess they don't find him attractive anymore and there's too much history for the new readers to pick up so they are rebooting the series under the title "Constantine". It will feature younger John Constantine, set in DC superhero universe so it's not gonna be rated mature anymore. I'm not interested in that at all. Hellblazer is the only comic book series that I kept reading. Even tho I couldn't read it constantly so I have to catch up a lot and it's gonna probably take years until I get to the final issue but it still saddens me.
RIP John Constantine :(

I read about this in the news the other day... i have never read a single Hellblazer comic but i did watch the movie Constantine which was based on this comic book... although a lot of the plot lines were changes in the movie... i was really hoping for a sequel or even a prequel... but the movie did not do that good...
For sure... a lot of Hellblazer fans and readers are disappointed about the decision to end this series... but i guess the comic book company want to attract the younger readers... and they cannot do that with an old John Constantine... i just hope they do this character justice in the reboot...

The movie was pretty bad. It totally changed Constantine as a character and didn't do him any justice. It's for the better there wasn't a sequel.
