For me, New Year is not mainly a family gathering so I`d go with my boyfriend if I were you. For me, Christmas is a family holiday and the children are the most important guests at any party. But New Year is a moment to have fun and it can be very romantic.

Not me. I like to stay home this year. It's way too cold to go out. I also don't care about celebrating or not. My youngest are too youngt to stay awake till midnight so if I am lucky I can go to bed whenever I want. The only thing I hope for is not being sick (because of the cold and my allergies and other health problems) and getting some extra sleep during the holidays.

I will be spending first xmas and new year with my boyfriend so it's fine with me either we stay home or go out for a date. Doesn't matter where as long as I am with him

I would much rather go out on a date then stay home with my family on New Years Eve. I tend to think of New Years as a party holiday and I cannot think of anything lamer then partying with my parents lol. Going on a trip sounds like a lot of fun too. Besides you'll of already spent so much extra time with your family during Christmas I don't see any harm in spending New Years with you boyfriend. The only thing I would take into consideration though is staying safe. When I do go out on New Years I tend to find one place to go and stay there. They're unfortunately so many drunk drivers on the road. I don't feel safe party or bar hopping. If you're just staying at your hotel I'm sure you'll be fine but its just something to consider if you're planning on going somewhere while you're on your trip.
