i was looking for my electric as it is quite hot and i need to use it while i am using the computer. my sister said that she put away the fan because it had an overheat problem. so i checked it , but the fan is working well with no problem. so i think it is still safe to use as i don't notice any smell like it is overheating. so thankfully it does not need any more repair as i just want to save some money.

Wow, we are in two different climates, it is winter here, our fans have gone back into the loft and we are having the heating on and putting the eletric blanket on the bed to keep warm

Some times electrical appliances need to be shut off and need to be cooled down for a period of time. If they're used all the time, they need a break, just like a person does.

My sister would get worried about the fan that's been used almost all-day long to cool the laptop. She would ask us to turn it off at times because it might overheat. Good thing it is still stable, functional, and shows no sign of overheating. I get worried, too but not as much as she does. Having it send for repair would be had on us because it there are no longer repair shops near our place and I know for a fact that repaired fans are usually not as good and long-lasting as they were before they were sent for repair.

hi ,it happens many a times, we get the smell of burning, but actually nothing burns the smell is due to over heating i guess. I too use the fan and get the smell , i really thought something was burning inside but nothing happened.
