What preparations should be done before taking exam?

I have taken qualifying exams for school, and government employment. most of the time, the examination covers aptitude test, numerical test, abstract reasoning, linguistics, reading comprehension, and integrity test. sometimes i pass through these kind of exams without preparations but in all honesty. but the latest exam i took was for government employment purposes. unfortunately, i wasn't able to pass it. what are the things that i should do in order to certainly pass these exams?

I can relate to you kristian2012 because I have taken the government examination which is the civil service exam. Taking that is like taking an entrance exam in a premiere university so what I did is that I review the language or grammar part and I scan my book in constitution. All the things I reviewed was not in the exam actually but there are some question which really happened to me and that is for real which I find it a bit easier. There are some questions about the constitution about taxes, sovereign, and territory in which I really don't know what's the answer. I just relied on my instinct on which I think is right. Luckily, I passed. I don't know what exactly to review. This is for sure and which I exactly did before the exam - you have to keep yourself aware of the current events because some questions are reflected there like the tax and territory thing. I took the exam back in 2010. The hardest part for me is the mathematics but I think, for as long as you know the PEMDAS, you can pass it. Kristian2012, you can pass it! I know you can! All you need to do while answering the question is to clear your mind and focus on the question itself. Never think if you're gonna pass it or not because it won't help.

thanks a lot for your response. i have taken the Civil Service Exam, and luckily i passed it, but the latest exam i was talking about was an entrance exam with the BIR for employment. i thought it would be just easy since it was almost like the Civil service exam and entrance exams in Universities. but during the actual exam, i was really pressured to answer 40 items multiple choice for only 20 minutes. others for 30, others for 40 minutes. i didn't even know how many mistakes and correct answers i had. one thing i knew was that i failed. it's ok for me though. but sometimes it comes to my mind that if only i have had preparation and knew what review, i could have probably passed it.

The Civil Service Exam is really difficult to pass. So I suggest that you read more books that tackles on the subjects/topics on that exam. Sometimes, the answers provided seem to be similar, but if you would understand each choice better, you will know the difference.

Thankfully, you have the resources of the Internet to help you. You can find similar tests or content that might be on your test to review. Practice the skills that are difficult for you, but don't forget to go over the easier parts. It's frustrating to make mistakes on the sections that we thought would be "easy", so don't become overconfident. In online forums, people might discuss aspects of the test that were tricky or things to note. Best of luck to you!
