When can you say that you need to get a new job? How many years will you stay to say that you did enough for the company. I've been working for a year but I think I am not satisfied with what I am doing. I really can't tell if my heart is still in my job because everyday I found myself not productive. Ooh I am confused.

Hello stevestiboy. In my life I have only changed a working place or my job for only one time for better pay. Ever since then, I have working in the same place for more than ten years. I don't think I need to find a new job since I love my working environment here. If you feel happy with your work, you may stay where you work and vice versa. Take care.

I decided to quit from working in the office after 7 years. When you're still working for one year i think you're still doesn't have enough experience from your work.If you think you're not productive, you can explore your self to find any ways to make you more productive.Show your self in the office that you're good worker.

In the best of times, it is when there is a new job offer that is very much better than the one I am having that will make me think if I want to change. But nowadays, with the economy slowing down and the job competition tight, to change job is risky unless I am very sure about what I am doing. I hope your uneasiness in your present job is just temporary. Job satisfaction is something intangible. The level of completeness depends on from what angle you look at it. For me, if I could finish the tasks I am assigned then I am happy as I will do it to the best I could. And when payday comes, well, it is just another month. I am just doing my duty to earn to feed my family.

I think the only question we could ask ourselves is that, are we enjoying what we are doing? If you are not enjoying your everyday routine, then there is no point staying on that particular job. Sometimes, the payment we get in doing something is just secondary to the fact that we are actually enjoying what we are doing. Have a nice day!

This is a great question that I have thought of myself a few times. I think that, in anything you do, you should feel accomplished or satisfied in what you are doing and if not then you are just wasting time making someone else happy and not yourself. I don't promote being selfish at all but their comes a point when you should do things for yourself and not just other people because you feel it is your job. If you don't know for sure that you are in the right job then you probably are ready to find a better one. That is just my opinion though. I feel that if you don't like what you are doing then it is just a waste of time. In either case, staying or finding a new job, best of luck and I am sure things will turn out for the better!

If you are not anymore happy with what you have, then, I think it is time for you to leave...but, you have to think that finding a descent job nowadays is so hard that you might be losing all of your savings by paying for your bills...

If you are not happy with your work, work place and people around you- you will never be productive and feel disoriented most of the time. It's easy to work when you are happy with what you are doing and people around you are supporting you in every ways.

You find work so you can earn for yourself and your family. To be able to retain the job, you need to be efficient, enthusiastic and driven. But how can you stay in a job when you have lost interest in that job. You would be less productive, of course. You might as well find a new job that will make you feel great about what you do and your enthusiasm towards work would come back.

ohh, it depends on our work satisfaction , if we are really interested in the job/work we don't get bored ,no matter how many years we work there. But if we are not interested in the work, then we cannot continue.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i can understand your problem as u said in your previous discussion that u are not focused and attentive at work. Now when u think that u have done enough for a company that u have gained enough experience to move to another company then u can leave your present company. Now since u have worked for a year i think u should apply for the vacancy of that company where u feel u can capitalize your talent and potential. Do not be confused and rather think for your better future. What say?

I don't think that time matters for how long you've been working for the company. For me, as long as you love what you're doing then I say go for it and if you're not then just simply leave and find your passion.

Hi there. One year is still to early for you to decide to leave your job or not. But if you say that your not productive, then better find a job that you really want and you would be productive. There's no point if you won't grow in the company your working with. When working, the company your employed at, whether its the one your currently with or others, they should help you grow, in all aspects like, mentally, emotionally, physically and even spiritually. So think things over first, if your not really happy, then go find a job that can really help you. The best of luck! Cheers!!! :)
