I want to be a good public speaker. The thing is, I trip on my words when I am nervous and tremble as well. I am an outgoing person when it comes to make friends with people I do not know. But when it comes to presentation and speech that involves professionalism, It is a big challenge for me. However, I really want to overcome this fear and be able to talk freely.

First and foremost, to become a public speaker you should acquire knowledge on different subjects that you want to discuss and talk about. it's best to seek help from a Pro and try asking for mentoring. They can help you in building up your public speaking decorum.
Second, build your audience .know which audience fits on your subject for discussion know your purpose and know theirs. Decide what target market your message and expertise fit the best.

Do you have an occasion in mind that you have to speak at?
The best thing you can do for a presentation is be prepared. A lot of people feel less confident when they are speaking in front of a group, but if they have planned each piece of the presentation, put their materials in order, and have visualized the whole thing, then stage-fright doesn't stand much of a chance. Preparation can give you real confidence.
If you would like to improve your general techniques, take every opportunity you can to practice. Sign up to be a guest reader at a local school or library. Talk to your local teachers to see if you can tell their students about your career or area of expertise. If you find yourself fumbling, focus on the positive behaviors you can control. Instead of thinking about the words you are fumbling, focus on making eye contact with a few people in the audience. If you make a mistake, smile. Your audience might not have thought it was a big deal.
Audiences generally remember if a speaker was passionate and inspired. They remember if the information was useful or entertaining. If you can focus on these qualities, most gaffes will be ignored.

Practice talking in front of a mirror, make sure you always talk slowly and clearly so people can understand you. Don't rush... you don't have a bus to catch.
Focus on one part of the room and keep your foucus there so you don't lose the thread of what you are saying.
When finished look at the people in the eye when they are asking oyu a question and you are answering it.

Thanks for sharing this nice tip to me. I have never thought of that and I will start to do it. I talk very fast and I think that is the main reason for me ending up saying the wrong things. I will from now on try to take my time when I speak. I also lose the thread like you say when I sort of get lost in what I am saying. As for looking to people in their eyes, I am good at it. lol

I admire you for your desire to become excellent in what you want to do. As Nap Hill said, desire is the starting point for everything we want to achieve. Having that desire, you are now on your way to become one of the best public speaker. We all start with a poor performance. The good thing is that every skill in every area of life can be learned. I believe that with your passionate desire for greatness, you will eventually overcome those limitations and refine your skill in public speaking. Keep on speaking. Some may laugh, others may mock, but I assure you that the day will come when you will be great. Truly, the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. Keep on and move on, victory awaits you. Persevere. Be ye very courageous.
