India started Day 1 of the test series against England in supreme confidence. Sehwag and Gambhir put on their first 100 run partnership in two years. Sehwag went on to score his first hundred in two years with a run a ball 117. One down Pujara staked claims for permanent work permit at this spot with an unbeaten 98. The only down side was the disappointing performance of Sachin and Kohli. For England, Swann was on song picking up all the 4 wickets to fall with the wicket already offering prodigious turn.
It would be really interesting to see how English batsmen fare against Indian bowlers on these pitches.
Cheers!

I should say that India's opener's gave their forehand in this first test match. Thanks for that important toss to win. That does not bring down the beauty of Sehwag's and Pujara's innings. Sehwag was as usual - unpredictable and Pujara was as formidable showing that he can be better replacement for the Indian legends who recently left the team;if not that much then somewhat he can fill the gap.

yeah swann restrict india to 323 today he picked up three wickets one after another to stay india before 400 on first day but shewag and pujara dominates england...i hope india reached out at 500 or 500+ runs but team still required 2 or 3 big partnership....

Yes, India is on a strong footing with it making 521 and England on the backfoot due to fall of early wickets.
