Article Writing & Blogs...What To Say?

No matter where you turn, it seems as though everyone has a very successful blog site or making some serious money writing articles. I think I'm a pretty good writer and I set up a blog to get some kind of audience. Well, first time for everything and I'm stuck at a standstill when it comes to writing good stuff on my page. I have nothing to say that can remotely generate an audience to my site, and I'm kind of a boring person. I need help. Anyone got any advice?

I think you may be approaching it the wrong way. I could be reading you wrong here, but it seems as if you're trying to tap into something that will appeal to a general audience, while still finding something that you enjoy writing about and that you're knowledgeable about. Narrow your focus. A business approach isn't Wal-Mart; it's the product on the shelf inside the store. It's going to be hard to create a convenience store of ideas that people can flock to. Instead, it's much easier to hone in on a smaller audience to reach them directly. Don't have anything to write about? Write about that! Write about how hard it is to come up with ideas in a highly saturated blog market. Write about being a plain ol' Jane or Joe in an exciting world. Target those who are experiencing the same issues. You build your social community through like minds, not by a scatter shot or happenstance or general targeting. What exactly is "good" anyway? Your aim should be more along the lines of entertaining. To that end, you only need to focus on two things: Tone and structure. Your content should have a friendly, user-first tone that conveys a message, and your writing structure should be nicely broken up and supplemented with images, links, videos, etc. Think of your blogging in the same way myLot is set up. When you want to rant about politics, it goes into the political section. The only people stopping by are those interested in politics. People aren't coming from the movies or sports section to weigh in on political discussions with movie or sporting talk. Most have many different interests, but the point is that they come to a specific section for a specific purpose. Cater to a direct niche market. With what you're presenting, I think you can find a pretty big niche -- even some crossover from neighboring niches. You have the "I don't know what to write about" thing going, plus the "I'm pretty boring" and the "I'm new at this" all working in your favor. You're not trying to sell anything, so building trust like affiliates and e-stores have to do isn't an issue. You don't seem to be trying to pawn referrals off on people, so you don't have to mask anything. You just need to reach out to your market and speak to it directly.

I'm not actually making money from blogging. I just enjoy what I'm doing. i think the best way to write is write about something that you're interested at in order to give your whole inspiration and idea into your writing. I suggest you make a redgage account, it's a book marking site and posting comment on other blogs will also help your blog get some viewers.

You can hit 2 birds with one bullet. You can blog to blog at same time you're earning from it , still you're very productive and same time having fun.

I'm not just going to blog to make money. I love writing and telling stories. But you're right. Some blog just to blog, others make money.

What's your blog about? If you make it about something you're passionate about, then writing will flow easily.

This is always a good starting point for aspiring writers. Focusing on what we know and what we like means we have a lot of material that we can use and develop into literary pieces. The challenge, of course, is not to underestimate our personal stories because we are so familiar with them.

A pleasant day Bluebell18, Indeed it is difficult to write something if you are quite disturb, I mean if you are not fully concentrated on the topic you are discussing. However, since you think you are a good writer, I am pretty sure that you can do and finish a great article for an specific topic. Perhaps, you just need to have a sort of inspiration to compose it accordingly. Maybe you can also compose an area of discussion about health. Through this, you can somehow create an initial discussion to be converted into a story. Sometimes, its just need a good introduction then every bits of the story follows. Goodluck on your writing endeavor.

Just write about your life, that's got to be interesting. You could go to the mall and notice what people are wearing, people watching is a great pastime. You could write about the places you've been as well. I used to have a blog about driving to work called "I-35 Rant & Ramblings", I had a few followers. Also, find a topic that you want to explore and write about it, you'll be learning along with your readers. Good luck!

I know how you feel about not finding the right subject to work with in a blog. I started a blog a few years back and got stuck. Then my mom passed and I left to take care of things with family for 2 months. By the time I came back I had no ambition to work the blog. So I gave it up. Reading suggestions here, maybe I will think about it and try again.. Just been at a stand still here for awhile. Have had some huge personal shockers and having hard time dealing with them all at once. Yet no matter one thing that keeps going forward is life.. I am sure you can come up with something.. what could you create if you were given the opportunity to do so.. well here ya go... go for it..

I see blog publications as a chance to create online portfolios where people can demonstrate their skills and knowledge of different subjects. Aspiring writers, in particular, can benefit from publishing blogs. Aspiring writers can choose to write what they find interesting or what other people find interesting. Both are acceptable, but in the end, the readers get to decide which will become an economic success.

Hello. I had abandoned my blog because there are many who does write good ones. No one seems to visit my blog. So I just stay here in myLot though the income here isn't much. I had red somewhere here that they participate in other discussion sites. I just don't know if its legit like myLot. According to them, they write articles and just copy and paste it to their discussion sites. As for me, I'll just stick here in myLot. It is easier participating in discussions and fun. Believe me, I had checked some of the sites

I'm nobody in term of blogging. I also owns a few blogs that nobody care to have a look for. So i can sort of understand your situation. But first thing I want to tell you, the era of blogging is no longer here. Now it's all about social networking sites. So there is a possibility that people just don't read blogs much anymore, and the fault is not yours.

Along with what everyone else said, you could write fiction. Come up with a world/life different from your own, and write about that. Become a different person. Just don't get that online 'you' confused with the real you! And good luck!

Hello! I think for you to be able to catch someone's attention and generate audience is to write what interest's you and in the news. The more talked about new, the better. And always put some personal flavor to your writings. Like a signature that's your unique style. So that if one reader gets to read your article or blog, he / she would follow your blogs and read your next blog because he something unique in the way you write.

I would also promote your blog to everyone you know--friends, family, neighbors--and ask them to help you spread the word about your written word! That will also help to generate interest in, and participation with, your writing, and may help you to generate new ideas as well as earning some revenue.
