I'm thank you for

Today at school, my children had their Thanksgiving meal. Well, they came home telling me about how good their lunch was and then Paul said that he had to eat lunch in the guidance counselor's office. At first I thought that he had gotten into trouble. However, he then said that one of his friends in another class invited him to eat with him in there (a reward for the children for doing something good). He said that all during lunch they were talking about the things that they were Thank You for. He told us that he said that he was thank you for his mommy and daddy, his sister and his pets. I know that a lot of adults have been spending this month thinking about the things that they are thankful for. However, I just wonder if anyone has paid attention to their children and finding out what they are thankful for this year? In addition to Paul talking about what he is Thank You for, Kathryn decided after school today to make a list of fifteen things that she is thankful for. If your children, or other important children in your lives have been sharing things that they are thankful for, please share them. I think that it is so neat to hear the things that children are thankful for.

Your kid is so sweet! I am sure you felt really loved by him when he was telling you about it. My kids would sometimes bring home letters they made from school and I also feel great reading their thoughts about our family despite being in a "not so normal" status.

It is something that really makes mothers feel good when they hear that their children are thankful for something or even when we see in writing that our children really do appreciate what we do for them.

i think it is important to be thankful every day. we often take lots of things for granted and although our Canadian Thanksgiving is past, i still continue to feel thankful for all that i have. it is neat to hear what kids are thankful for, especially the young ones!

I too think that it is important to be thankful each and every day. Honestly, that is the reason that I did decide this year to be a part of the month of thankfulness, where I've been listing one thing that I am thankful for every day during the month of November. It has forced me to really think about those things that I'm thankful for.

The kids at school are all doing things for what they are thankful for my son said hot dogs lol. I thought it was pretty funny. But what else would you expect from a 5 year old. I love the simplicity of what he is thankful for. My daughter said she was thankful for teachers and friends.

Actually, it does make sense that a child would say that they are thankful for their favorite food. Paul didn't tell me that he was thankful for a certain kind of food, but I don't doubt that he probably said that he was thankful for pizza.

Honestly, I don't think that I would go to the extent of saying that he is the sweetest kid in the world because he does have his moments where I really wonder where his horns are. However, I am so very thankful to have both him and his older sister in my life.

Aww too cute! I cant wait to hear from my children about that. I love their art projects, letters to santa, etc. I try to keep as many as possible. I think that they are the best and so warm. I have wondered what children have to say as they are so young and have a different perspective on life.

You know, some of the things that they are thankful for are very simple things, like the fact that both of my children are thankful for their pets. However, some of the things that they are thankful for are things that you really wouldn't think a child would think to be thankful for, like having a roof over their heads because there are people that don't have those things right now.
