Shocking new crime fashion

I had a chat the other day with a guy from the authorities, and he told me about the latest "fashion" in the crime scene. It is about the illegal immigrants in my country. It seems they found a way to make money without disturbing the locals. Apparently what they do is, they invite people from their own countries over to my country, promising them they will get them papers and work, or plane tickets to a nice european town. When they arrive though a surprise expects them. They get kidnapped by their fellows instead and tortured. Then money is asked from their families back in their countries, in order to release them. However, even if they get the money they still don't release them. They get as much money as they can and many times they murder in the end, if they can't get more money. The people that are kidnapped, even if they escape, most of the times they are scared to contact the authorities, since they are illegally in the country themselves. I was pretty shocked when I was told about this.

Hi coldnpale. Well this is something very tragic. But if I was among one of those illegal immigrants who got kidnapped, I would have openly surrendered myself to the cops. Though they would put me in the jail, I would have at least lived without fear of losing my life. I think the crime department should encourage those people to follow this pursuit. And may be offer them some concession in their punishment. For now I can only pray for those unfortunate victims. Anyways have a nice day and keep sharing such useful information that create awareness about important things in life... -SuperShames-

Thanks for the answer and concern. Another tragic thing about all this is, that it is something nobody knows about in my country., even though it happens. The media never mention it. And you have to do a lot of searching in order to find an article in a newspaper. The guy that told me about this is actually in the authorities and he told me he had a lot of those cases in the past few months.

Hi coldnpale. Thank you for awarding me my first ever best response. And that too I got it in such a wonderful discussion. And coming to the topic, I think the fastest way to bring this matter into light would be media. May be your friend should talk to his seniors regarding creating awareness among everyone about these issues by addressing it through media.

My pleasure having you in the discussion mate:) It seems the media are not really concerned about this fact, probably because the immigrants found a way to make money without "annoying" the locals. Usually those criminal organisations would murder or steal from the locals. Now they are doing this new thing, and both the locals and themselves are "happy". They get the money and the locals are unaffected, although in ignorance mostly..

It's funny when I was reading your title, I read both "fashion" and "crime" and I immediately thought of Bruno Mars' hairstyle. That's awful. I've watched some news here about something like that. The difference is that the people inviting my people are also my people, Filipinos. Don't get me wrong, I love my people but they have to do the right thing. I'm not trying to add up some flame against my people here, but what I said is true -- some Filipinos are inviting other Filipinos abroad to apply for a job which would later turn out to be a scam. Don't you think that's filthy?

lol about the hairstyle ^^. Indeed it is filthy. When it is tough in a country and people have to seek better luck in another country, the first ones they try to reach are people of their own nationality that live abroad. So that they can help them with the settling in, language, papers, etc. It's so sad some mafia guys use this difficult situations to make dirty money.

Indeed crime ratings seem to have grown as high as ever. In the past there was war, nowadays the new form of war is the financial war, that causes many people to become really poor, and forces them to crime in order to make a living. Really sad, but I hope that things will get better in time, even though i highly doubt it. Crime was there, and always will be.
