Indian Cricket player Cheteshwar Pujara has become sixth Indian to score double century against England in the test matches played against it today. He also becomes nineteenth Indian to score double ton in Test matches. The 24 year old Pujara who hails from Rajkot city of Gujarat is known as ‘Runs Making Machine’ in domestic Cricket. He has shown an extra ordinary performance today at the Sardar Patel Stadium, Motera, Gujarat while playing his first inning on the second day. He remained not out for 98runs yesterday. Today morning he completed his century without ay problem and successfully managed to add 206 runs to Indian team while remaining ‘Undefeated Hero’ of the day. With his contribution the Indian team could easily attained the proposed target of 500 runs on the second day thus putting the team England under a lot of pressure. Pujara hastaken the responsibility of Rahul Dravid who got retired in the month of March this year who was known as ‘The Wall’ of Indian Cricket team which was a very big challenge to him. But with this superb performance in his debut appearance in the test match he proved his mettle and now we can be assured that we have a good substitute for Rahul Dravid, for this player is known for his consistent performance also. For his performance today at Motera he received a message of appreciation from Rahul in the form of ‘Congratulations’ about which he was very happy. He feels that playing at number three position is very big responsibility as many a times the player has to face the new ball. The former captain and present commentator at the Test Match, Saurav had all the praises for this young man. He expressed that he got a nice temperament and a good technique which can make him another great wall for Indian team in coming years! Now can India be contended with this Pujara at number three position? Will he be another great wall for India in the time to come? Please respond and Oblige!

I would say that he is not yet the Great Wall of the Indian Cricket team. But he has laid the second brick in his attempt to create the wall. The first brick was laid when he scored 70 odd against Australia in the chase. Now the second brick has been laid in his wall with this unbeaten double century. But the real bigger bricks can only come when he plays in the overseas pitches. Cheers! Ram

Very well said dear Ram! Many strong bricks are needed to have a strong wall with good concrete! He will have to get those bricks from various international matches! Since this youngster is having a consistent performance along with good temperament and technique it won't be wrong for Indians to expect him to be a good substitute for Rahul Dravid, who used to play the same number three position. Let us all wish this young man all the best for his future career as a cricketer! Thanks dear ram for your sensible response as ever!

:) I always try to be sensible, but as they say common sense is often not so common. :) Coming back to Pujara what was very pleasing to see was that in the second innings as well he showed the hunger to stay in there and not get out playing some rash stroke. Cheers! Ram

Hi, You are right. Pujara is another Great Wall for Indian cricket team. It was very interesting and exciting to watch Pujara's batting in the first teat match against England. He played very well like an experienced batsman. Indian cricket team ha got a very good batsman in place of Rahul Dravid.

I certainly think that Pujara is going to be a reliable middle order batsman of Indian cricket team. He has an impressive batting record in Ranji Trophy,Duleep Trophy etc. Dravid too was with similar performance at the time of reaching Indian team.

I too do have the similar feelings like you regarding this young man! He is having a consistent performance in the domestic cricket and he has got nice temperament and good technique which are undoubtedly great assets for him and to the Indian cricket team. I too recall Rahul Dravid also had a nice performance in domestic cricket when he entered Indian team. I think with the time he will gain international experience to prove his mettle to prove himself as a next 'wall' for the team! Thanks for responding dear friend!
