I`m about to leave for a long weekend.

I finally made up my mind and decided to go to a very nice city at ther beach, an hour and a half from my hometown. I`m staying for 3 night at a very good and central hotel. I am planing to do several things I never do here such as go window shopping, taking a walk by the seashore and maybe go to the movies for a good art movie. We`ll see. I have a friend there who told me I could stay at her house a couple of day more, but I have to see how that works. I`ll keep you posted on my comings and goins, friends, as I`ll have wifi at the hotel. Do you take some days off once in a while to see other places and relax? What do you prefer: countryside or breach? Why? Share!

Hello, Mama Marguicha! I wish I could be as free as you to go anywhere at anytime. But unfortunately, I really seldom get the chance to have a vacation. It is usually at my mom's hometown where I am really comfortable to go to. If I do have a chance, I go out at night with my cousins and their friends. Not much shopping can be done on their place coz it is just a small town. The last time I went kn a vacation was January 2011! I am hoping I could visit my relatives again by next year.

Thank you for your wishes, Jenny. I have great expectations for this trip even though it`s just a few days. But this is the first time I go out since I got ill and I feel it`s a sort of adventure. I`ll be safe and anyway it`s very easy to come back home if I don`t feel well.

A weekend getaway is always a treat. I hope we could also go to the beach or some place relaxing next weekend, for the thanksgiving break.

Thanks, friend. I`m looking forward to this. I have been waiting for the weather to be more stable before I go out, but now it`s the middle of Spring and it should be awesome.

It is a long time I took some days to have a vacation. If I do, I visit some friends - When I was younger I used to swim in a nearby river, but if I don't have company, I rather go and visit some friends and have a nice chat.
Many times people come and visit me and that is kind of vacation too

I used to travel a great deal before, and hope to do so in the future if I can. Trying to take care of my health and see if I can go somewhere, at least when we have spring here. I love to travel in spring when the weather is not too warm.
Stockholm is a favorite place, as I have many friends there and I know how to travel with the trains and Metro and buses. It's so beautiful in spring - lots of water - a big lake and the sea meet there..
Well, enjoy your vacation - about time you get to see other places and relax..

I have always thought that an outing is part of health. This last year I had to be at home, secluded, while I had the chemotheraphy. Now I want to go places, as much as I can, in between tests, exams, doctors and treatments.

This trip is an adventure that I hope will end well. I will be going alone. I have a friend at the beach, but I don`t know if she will have time to see me. I usually have friends over at my home, but I felt I needed to see other places as I have been too secluded this last year.

Have fun! I'll have a long weekend too but I'll just spend it in our province. We might go to the opening of a local carnival happening tonight if we're not yet too tired from the 3 hour travel from the city.

I have been mostly at my friend`s home. She has treated me with nice things to eat and we have talked a lot. Tomorrow I`ll be on my own as she has to work. I have plans to do several things such as walking by the seashore and do some sightseeing.

Well you see friend the Philippines is made up of so many scattered tiny islands so our topography gives visitors as well as ourselves the pleasure of seeing the beach or the country side at the same time or shift from one place to the other. Most of the time it's always beach or shoreline, flat land or the countryside , then the mountains most of the time tropical rain forests, we get to enjoy everything bundled in one package

Good for you! Hope you have a great time, some times we need to just get away. I've really never gotten away to a beach before, but that sounds nice. Since we live in a city, I always like to go to the country. There is when you can really appreciate nature and it has a calming effect. Keep us posted on all the fun you're having!

I have had more fun than what I had hoped for. My friend has taken very good care of me and invited me to a coffe shop that made awesome apple pies. Then we went to her house and talked until 11 PM when she brought me back to my hotel. She is coming for me at 11 AM tomorrow

It's been a very long time since we've had the opportunity to get away from home for a few days because of finances and health and those kinds of things. However, this is something that I am definitely hoping to change in the next few months.
If I had my choice, I would choose to go to the beach, but we can't take a quick trip to the beach because of the fact that the beach that is the closest to where we live is at least nine hours away from where we live.

Nine hours is a long way, friend, and so it is a expensive trip. But there are other nice places that are not as expensive or far away. Maybe that could be an idea.

Seeing as I cannot get away very far from here I always try to go as far as I can and make the most of what I have around me.
Okay so the sea is miles away from here but there are other things.

I`m doing other things as I met my friend immediatly after lunch and she said not to do anything without her. She took me to tea at a very nice place and then to her beautiful house. We talked a lot and she told me about her daughter`s wedding in Paris and her trip to Istambul. Awesome! I learned a lot.

I used to travel with hubby always to tourist spots and places of pilgrimage; but this diabetes has made us so handicapped
In my opinion don't go to friends houses, stay in hotel that is under your budget; better to eat outside while you are moving;and take lot of pictures to share

I love sun everywhere. In Winter I try to travel to where sun is as my bones don`t like cold weather anymore. And I have discovered it is cheaper to travel than to heat the house in such a way that I`m comfortable.
To keep me away from pollution here and breathe fresh air.
PLUS, the sea breeze is good for the health.
I remember that whenever I am having an asthma, my father would ask me to walk along the beach.@marguicha (215030)

I hope I can have long walk by the seashore and others in the city itself. It`s a much nicer citiy than the one I live in because it`s small and not polluted as mine.

I like beach anytime. The beach is very close to our house its 15mins travel . I enjoy it very much.I can go to the country side ,but i cannot stay there for more than 3 or 4days. I get bored.

For me the beach and the waterfront are very relaxing. And if I get together with my friend, I hope she`ll take me to special places she know abnout that have dishes make with fresh seafood.

I like old towns and festivals. Yes, that's how I celebrate my "travelling alone" time. I like to see places that were built long time ago, because in my mind it could just vanish one of these days. I like to learn something from the past. I like festivals because I like to have some experiences to share with the people, like oh this is how they done that. or this is their traditional way of... and people learn from me too. I don't like beaches not that much. because it I cant swim simply no use, but if I will go underground water cave, or island hopping riding on a boat, then I am ok with it.

I cannot do much exercise so I prefer places where I can walk and watch new (and old) things. The ocean sounds have something soothing for me although I cannot go into the water. The ocean where I live is icy cold.
