Compromise ...NOT!

To earn extra cash, I do other stuffs (offline) like modeling, hosting and acting. But, there's a downside to this so it's really not been a big help for me. I said COMPROMISE because there are convictions I had to give up to succeed in this kind of career. I'd thought about it SEVERAL times before, esp when I was younger. I was seriously into it. Just, it's hard when you're holding to your convictions. I don't smoke and I don't drink. I can socialize but I definitely can't do indecent proposal stuffs. These are compromised pushing with this kind of venture. Been hoping and expectant of receiving wholesome projects but all that's being given to me are SEXY and DARING projects. It's frustrating. Yeah, I am not that tall and all that's why I don't have the advantage to really compete with the rest of the others that's why it's a tough decision to turn down projects only because I can't give up my convictions and give in to offers I do not really want to take. And, since I started modeling a few years back, this has always been the case. It's a take-it-or-leave-it negotiation all the time. And, career has to leave me behind. No regrets, though. Just I was wishing the sitch could've been different. Even it's not a really high offer, for as long as it's gonna help me earn extra and will not compromise my convictions, I am in. Anyone can relate to my frustration here? What's your 2cents?

Hi sharksfin. It's kind of off topic, but I just want to say that I miss your presence here in mylot!:) You'd been away for so long! Anyway, about your discussion, I agree with what the others say and I admire and respect you for sticking to your values. I have never been in this kind of job so I can't really give you much help... I'm sorry about that. Perhaps you can pursue a career in the theatre? Just hang in there. Good things will happen to you. And I hope you'll be able to continue doing what you love without compromising your convictions.:)

I admire you because you still have your values intact and you won't trade them for money or opportunities to get ahead. I wouldn't feel guilty if I were you. I remember I was once offered the same thing - modeling for sexy poses - but I declined as it just wasn't who I am. I know there would be many opportunities for you still.
