I get the depo shot every 3 months, I went today, and I was told I can get it a week before the due date. I am due on the 28th of this month, I find within a week before reaching this date I have severe pains, and discomfort, when I get the birth control I am fine. I went in today, and the nurses make it sound like you want it when you don't need it. I could see it being some other type of medication (which can make you high). I explain everytime and my doctor even put it in the file. The lady said today I cant get it any earlier than today, and I asked why. She said because you can overdose. The last shot was 3 weeks ago, I just don;t understand it's clear its not in my system or wearing out as I am in pain again.

You can take to many at one time because it is hormones they are putting into your body to trick it into thinking you are already pregnant. That is why when you take birth control you can only get a refill or shots at certain times. the pains are probably your body trying to have a period.

I am not suppose to have a period which is the entire point of being on the shot. I have agganizing periods, and usually dont actually end up having one. Just being in severe pain when I am suppose to have one. I havent had a period since last May, but everyone month its horrible pain right before I get the shot again, the last week then once I get it I am fine.

You can have terrible period pains without ever having a period. The hormones in the body will send messages for the body to prepare for a period and all you get is terrible pelvic pain. I'm in menopause. There are still times when I get period pains in my pelvic area, but of course I don't have periods.

If I take the birth control I am fine, a few people have said it sounds just like endometrosis. My doctor even said he cant pin point it, as I dont have the full symptoms (or spack in the face). Most with endometrosis suffer until it shows up on tests. I have had ultrasounds, and physicals all have said something but it's not clear enough to make a diagnosis. My friends mom has it and said she was just like me, and most dont get a diagnoses until their early 30s (I have at least 5 years to go). But everytime you have a period it is 10x more pain because of it. He put me on this shot, and I will admt I use to have pain the entire month which that has gone away, and the heaviness. I dont have a period and not that pain every month during the week I could barely walk and function it was so bad. Now I notice since getting this shot, it's like ti wears off and starts with the pain. I was told I can get it up to a week or was it two weeks before I need it again.

Not sure about over dosing... but a friend told me once her dr. said if she took to many over a certian period of time they would not work for her.

I was told that as well, in the past.
