I look like a mess when I get sick!

Every time I don't feel well and stay at home, I look like mess! I wear many layers of clothes and pj's, I don't make my hair and I carry tissues everywhere I go to blow my nose. I wear my sleeping clothes all day and my slippers. I don't want anyone to see me like that! I change clothes only if I have to go out for medicine or to get some food. Do you look after your look when you are sick?

My husband and family would teach me that I look like a good girl whenever I'm sick. I guess it's the fragility of the look plus the doe-eyed look whenever I feel so vulnerable does the trick, lol! I guess looking bad is more of because we feel bad. It's just a reflection of how lousy we feel. And I think we tend to care more on feeling better than our looks, but I know some people who just can't wake up without putting on make up despite the fact that they are burning with fever.

of course not. but when I was confined in the hospital I brought my lipstick with me, aside from the chapping lips I didn't like my visitors to see pale lips too as if I was in a serious condition.

I was sick recently, I had a heavy cold which made me feel awful. I think I can recall working hard to look as good and feel as comfortable as possible, because I already feel awful. So, I think I kept very clean; wore light clothing (I hate heavy clothes); shaved; tried to eat OK...of course I only had a cold, if I was a good deal sicker I may not have been so scrupulous in keeping up appearances. But I never like to let myself go, even if I don't have to go anywhere. And even when I'm sick. That said, I didn't look that great! My hair is pretty long right now, and I've been meaning to get it cut, but that's not been possible, and of course, I've not washed it for a goodly amount of time either, and the cold simply extended that time. And my eyes must have looked red-rimmed and heavy with cold. When you're sick, you hever look your best, to say the least!

It needs a lot of effort to do what you have done! I like heavy clothes when I am sick and right now I am wearing 4 layers and a scarf!
I guess the same happens to everyone, I feel weak and I am not in the mood to think about how I look! Staying at home might be worst because if I had to go out I would force myself at least to do the basics!

I am sick right now. However I am at work too.
I will dressed properly so that I do not look
sick. When I do not look sick, I felt better. Some
positive attitude at play. I normally try to
forget that I am sick by watching funny cartoons
and stay happy. Take medication, drink plenty of
water and rest. I hope I can get well very soon
because next week I will have quite a number of task
to do. I also do not want to spread my flu to others.

I took a couple of days off work to stay at home and feel better. Also, I didn't take any medication yet since I am not heavily sick yet. But if I had to go to work, I would take care of my appearance too, and I would probably take some medicine to stay strong for the day.
Get better soon!

I look horrible when I am sick. I tend to sleep on the bed with boxes
of tissues. My wife will buy me porridge and asked me to eat, later
take medication. At times she will grumble because she said I will spread
to her.
So, an apple a day - may we stay healthy everyday!

When I am sick, I generally don't care. No one can judge you then! However, sometimes when I am on the "road to recovery", I find that showering and changing into still comfortable, but nicer clothes helps me feel better. When I have to go out for medicine, I just bundle up my mess and don't worry...after all, if I am getting medicine, people should know why I look like a mess ;)

Haha :) You are so lucky!
I have to walk in front of my local coffee shop in my neighborhood to go to the pharmacy. So I might try a bit more with my appearance if it's a busy time during the day!
During recovery it might be beneficial to take a bath and change to better clothes because it gives us the idea that we are back to normal and the recover is quicker!

Yeah, I am lucky that not a lot of people in my neighborhood know me AND that people in my neighborhood also dress however they want so I don't look so crazy even if I am messy.

Hi friend,
I think everyone doesn't really look good when we are sick. I myself doesn't really care about my looks when I'm sick. Specially when I'm really feeling very bad, that I can't even stand on my own feet. I can't think of how I look when I feel very bad. All I can think of is how I feel and when will I get better. The most important thing I want when I am sick is to really get better.

I feel the same, but I am thinking abou it when I get better! The day when my sickness is almost gone and I look in the mirror to see how bad I look!
Then I will have to take a bath and make my hair and wear my every day clothes! This makes me realise that the sickness is over and I am back to my normal life! :)
