How do I get job on Odesk? Well, it’s pretty simple. I applied to various posted job/project that meets my skills and meets my interests usually it’s hard to get accepted on certain projects because some applicants are more skillful than you. So, the best way you can do is to find your edge from the rest. Write a formal cover letter and substantial CV to your employer so that he will find you a reliable candidate for the said position. It’s also a good way to earn more impression over Odesk when you completed your profile, updating every skills and information and also undergoes the Odesk readiness exams and test for your applied skills. That way if you have more exams participated your employer will have you on his top list to vie for the position.

You are very much welcome! I've been in Odesk for about a month since i'm working as an online freelancer. it's one of the good online opportunities you can start with and i must say, one of the legit one's since you are applying to various companies as an independent contractor. it's also important to put on a good impression to what projects you want to apply. Good luck!

Create your profile and make it stand out from the rest, you have to keep in mind that there's thousands of other freelancers looking for work there. Keep your profile updated, take the tests, keep applying even if you don't hear back and don't get discouraged.

I have an odesk account but unfortunately no one has ever come back to me for a job, or in other words I never get hired. That's ok, it will come.

Till you get an established reputation I would accept some small jobs at low rates just to get your ratings up and positive feedback. Remember there are a lot of people competing for the same job, they might not be as good but the "boss" doesn't know that so stand out.

I think you must take tests there. Also create your profile active. You must get first job at less amount. Later, increase the amount as your reputation increases.

Well,in Odesk you need to bid for the different assignments over there. It is one of the freelancing sites and one of the best available. I am just new in odesk and has not completed an year there. But then already i have completed three assignments over there and is moving with things slowly but steadily. For qualifying for things, first of all complete your profile to full.Make it 100 per cent.Next, complete the tests relevant to areas of interest and update your things in odesk regularly. Its is important when you bid for projects to write a convincing and good cover letter. And never lose heart and keep on trying for different assignments. It takes time to get things but then the site is legit. So no worries on that front atleast. Well, one tip i would say is not to work on assignments or bid for ones which does not have the payment type verified by odesk. There are certain employers whose payment type is not verified.Plus work on clients who either give upfront payment or based on hours. If you are taking fixed term assignments, ensure you are ready to take risk and the client has a good profile and has been to pay.Ensure your hardwork and effort does not go in vain. Thanks!
