Karylle Receives a Callback Slip

Miss Saigon,one of the longest running musical recently held auditions for aspiring
Filipinos who want to follow the footsteps of Monique Wilson Jamie Rivera,Pinky Amador and of course our very own Lea Salongga who bagged a Tony Award for her exeptional performance at the at West End.
Karylle,Zsa Zsa Padilla's daughter,didn't pass this opportunity.She announced in the previous episode of "It's Showtime" that she received a callback after auditioning at Miss Saigon.Among other singers who auditioned Rachel Ann Go, Aicelle Santos and Angeline Quinto.
Yey! I hope Karylle makes it. I am a fan of Karylle since "The Kitchen Musical" became an Asian hit kitchen drama.

I'm not really a fan of Karylle but I too hope she makes it. I think theater fits her talent and personality. She's a good performer but a little underrated I think.

Good for her. Although I must admit I was a little surprised that she got a callback. Don't get me wrong, Karylle is a great singer. I've also watched The Kitchen Musical and I thought she did a great job in that series. It's just that there were lots of younger theater actors/actresses that auditioned and they've had done more theater plays and musicals than Karylle. I think she's only done one. Just the same, I'm happy for her too.

Karylle has done three musicals already, Little Mermaid, Seussical, and The West Side Story and she has an upcoming ballet musical, Rama Hari with Christian Bautista, which my husband and I, together with our friends will watch on 1st of December.

I bet she has good exposure and experience in doing plays and musicals. That's her training as a kid and as she grew to be a young woman. Her voice quality is also fit for musicals. I don't like her singing voice as a performer on tv or in concerts, but she would do well in musicals and theater.

I saw that on Showtime too. Glad she made a callback though the news today is that she didn't make it to the second callback.

I am not a fan of her before but when I saw how good she was deep inside, I really did became her fan then. Anyway, it's good to know that Filipino's has good talent and are being appreciated internationally. I too hope that she will make it. A call back is already something good and worth all the hardships for artist like her.

I was not a fan of her while she was still starting in showbiz. I thought at that time, she was just a plain Jane who can sing,dance and a daughter of a diva.Her career blossomed when she moved to abs-cbn. I admired her on how she handled the controversies when Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera came out.

the character is suppose to be 17 but Asians look naturally young. Anyway aside from its return to the broadway, its going to have a movie version.I think the auditions in our country is for the return in broadway. whoever gets the role needs to remember she needs to lose weight as she will be in bikini in once of the scenes as she will play the role of a bar girl. whats amazing about the character Kim, is that despite of the fact she is a bar girl, she have innocence on her.
