I am never intirely sure that I create a new dish on my own, maybe I saw the recipe some time, somewhere. But I think this creation is mine. I sliced yams and apples together, In a greased baking dish, a little olive oil sprayed on top and used cinnamon and five spice powder to sprinkle on top, baked until done and served as a side dish with roast turkey. It's good the next day, warmed as a leftover also.

Wow, great idea, can't wait to try it myself! I remember when I made adish too. I cut beef into strips, boil till tender. Then I discard the broth and boil again in just a small amount of water. This time i put beef cubes, salt and pepper. I cut potatoes and carrots in strips also and then boil till cooked. according to my friends who tasted it, it was good. I forgot, I put cornstarch also.

I love everything in it. Sounds good to me. Good the next day is almost a prerequisite for a holiday meal item.

Something different. It is good to invent our own recipes and serve to guests. Watching their happy faces enjoying our very own recipes give us satisfaction.

That sounds great! I think Turkey and/or Ham is really good with a sweet side item. I have heard of either apples or yams but never both of them.

It doesn`t matter so much if it`s yours or not, savy. But it really sounds yummy and I`m goinf to try it. I often use apples with turkey but never with yams. And the spices will add a new twist to it.

The recipe sounds good. I have made something similar in a crock pot. Peeled yams and apples. The dish is good, sprinkled with cinnamon. I have never heard of adding olive oil before, so that would be a dish unique created by you. I love to experiment around with simple dishes like that and sometimes we do create something new. I think I would probably add coconut oil on top with the cinnamon to give the dish a nutty flavor. Thanks for the idea.

That sounds delicious and I've never heard of it before! I would add some chopped pecans to it or walnuts for some crunch, though, because I love nuts. Thanks for sharing!
