I love jackfruit which is called langka here in the Philippines. When we were little, my sister and I would wait by the window for our dad to arrive home from downtown. We know he will always go home to bring us langka. It si sooo nice when the flesh is thick and sweet and juicy.

Yes, you described correct. I known from my other philipino friend that jackfruit is available in your country and then visited websites where I saw in Thailand and Philippines maret there are banana, orange, jackfruit selling by woman.

langka - fruit and food
Yes and i like it so much, it's big and has a thorn like skin and sticky as well so i put oil at my hands before eating it. I put some of it in a fried banana with a wrapper and taste and smells good. WE also do sweetened jacfruit. We Called it LANGKA here in the PHILIPPINES

Thanks for information - Right, I do not open it as its gum is very sticky (as like love) and cannot wash until oil is used in hand!!! Learned to use it with fried banana, we do not do it before !

I've only heard of it here on Mylot! What does it taste like? Maybe it's not sold here in the U.S., except in specialty store.

It is a fruit, very sweet, soft one is very juicy some is not too soft but sweet. Its seed also has taste if fried or cooked with hen meat or beef. It is rotting shortly after rip otherwise you could have got it in all USA stores as many people living there are from country where this nice sweet fruit was available and they are missing this in USA.
