Garden On A Mountain Top

Garden - This is my mother's garden on a mountain top. It literally on the mountain peak so as you may notice, you can see clouds even down below it.

There is a place in Benguet province called Talinguroy Wangal where I grew up. It is a mountainous place but you can find there small plantations all over. What I like most are the garden on mountain tops, they are refreshing and rejuvenating to the soul and mind. Have you ever experienced the beauty of a garden on mountain tops?

I have seen the picture you posted and i must say i envy you for having a place like that, my friend. What more is that you can always have fresh vegetables from that. May i just ask, is it hard going up that mountain?

Actually my friend, i already experienced a trek. That was when i was in my teens. We went to Banaue , to the view point. It was a very narrow road that time that we passed by. Then, we trekked to the view point. That time it was really a rough , small road. But i think at this time it was already widened and improved. Do you think so?

I guess so because there are more visitors coming to that place than before. There was a plan I heard before that they will revise the terraces by changing the stone rip rap with cement. There were many objections that time so the plan was halted. DO you think it would be better if the plan was realized?

Hi SIMPLYD, yeah, its hard to go up the mountain on foot. Rainy season is the most difficult time to go up our place because the trek track is slippery plus the fact that it is dangerous. However our people are well adjusted to it though it is hard. You want to try a trek?

It would be nice if you post more pictures of that so that we can see what you are describing in here. I know Benguet is a mountainous province and is the major supplier of many vegetables here in Manila. I also know that strawberries from Baguio came from this place as well. I think your land is indeed very fertile to be able to cultivate such variety of crops in your area.

There are yet places to see in Benguet but it is not that easy as going to the strawberry farms. Place like Bugias, Mankayan, and others are all beautiful places to go but they are from form Baguio city proper.

Hi rsa101, Benguet is indeed a mountainous province but is conducive for vegetable farming. You mentioned about those strawberries which I am missing since I was not there. If you've been in Benguet, you may have noticed the strawberry fields of La Trinidad. I will post other photos her in myLot.

I come from Baguio yet your place sounds unfamiliar. Yes, I have seen and experienced the same sights of gardens and vegetation in mountains. You can call it awesome but people in the highlands can make the best from out of every available space in the mountains. I miss the mountains which by now must be covered by those yellow flowers. There 's really nothing like the mountains..

Hi! for us who were born in those kind of beautiful places, there are times that it becomes just ordinary on our sight but now that we are in busy cities, we can't just help but hope to have a retreat on those beautiful mountains we loved so dear.

That is wonderful and nice. I experienced that when I climbed the Mt.Pulag in Benguet too. It is really beautiful on top of this mountain. You can see around the dwarf bamboo plants and you will see nature hovering around. It is such a splendid and resfreshing experience when one sees nature around. Thanks for this discussion. have a nice day!

All I can say about gardens on a mountain top is AMAZING! Yes, not only for the garden but for the people working and making that garden. You see, it's hard climbing on a mountain with nothing in hand, how much more carrying something for your garden. The difficulty in toiling and caring is as much amazing. How I admire people doing so. I can just imagine how beautiful and wonderful our Philippines is if every mountain there is in our place can be like Talinguroy Wangal. What do you think?

Hi! am sorry for this late reply. I agree with you. Now a days many are captivated with artificial beauty making them less interested in utilizing our very own natural resources to hone the awesome beauty lying therein.

Wow! I have traveled to some places in PI but I've never been to Benguet. I could only imagine how wonderful it would be to sit by the garden, breathe fresh air & see a lot of plants, trees & flowers. You eat the freshest veges too! You're very lucky to have spent a part of your life in Benguet.

Hi! Our place was not popular but it is also liekn to Bugias and the other places you've mentioned. It's really cool a top the mountain so if you will do a vacation on places like ours, you need to be ready with blankets and jackets specially at night.
