I was watching a show about the hottest toys of the season and saw the new and improved Furby. Furby is for ages 6 months to 8 yrs old. There is iphone, ipad, and ipod touch software that interacts with him. You can feed him with it and probably do a few other things. Anyhow my question is this.....What are children 6 months to 8 years old doing with iphones, ipads, and ipod touches to being with? Lol, when I was that age I had a fisher price tape player.

I think this is the tech age, and kids nowadays are getting so involved with the newest items on the market. Some may have some of them on their own, but some may be using their family's ipad/phone/pod. Some hover parents may be sure to feed the furbies also so their kids don't miss a feeding. Some adults may have furbies and use it on their ipads. It's pretty astounding how many kids of things like that, but on a good note, I find some security in knowing children have cell phones in case anything should happen or they get lost, etc.

I like the idea of kids having cell phones but I don't get the idea of kids walking around with delicate $500 instruments. A close friend of mine recently had her 7 year old daughter do her a favor and wash her ipod touch lol.

Some of them use their parents' iPhone or iPad. I'm glad they have an android os app as well because I have a samsung, I don't like iPhone. I can put the app on my Nook as well so my daughter can use it off that lol. I had several of the original furbys back in the day, as well as a few small stuffed ones. I have to say, there will be plenty of older kids with furbys as well as adults. I'm going to play with the ones I'm getting my daughter .

I hope the new ones do more then the old ones did. I tried messing with them when they were popular the first time and I just didn't get it lol. I wished the new ones worked as speakers. That would be pretty cool....I know he can dance but....would much rather him act as a speaker lol.

LOL!!! ha ha ha, now that would be great! Instant entertainment at a party with the dancing SINGING musical furby. Oh how my daughter would love that. I think I'm going to ask if her furby can sing with her at the talent show. Of course maybe we'll just make the furby dance, it might be tone deaf and squeaky.

Little kids are one of the most to gain with the advent of iPads. Besides playing games they can also learn how to read and write much faster. Even autistic kids can learn through an iPad. I was amazed when I read how much an iPad can do - socyberty.com/education/how-to-use-the-ipad-to-help-children.
