Early Labor

I am currently 7.5 months pregnant. I am thinking that I will end up having the baby early however how early is the question. With my first son I had him 9 days early. The difference is this baby is already about the size my first son was when he was born and I am having alot of pain and issues I didn't have with my first son. Now I also am aware every pregnancy is different so it may just be that this boy is being a little maniac and hence the extra pain and nausea. Does anyone know of some sure fire ways to tell if you are going to have your baby early or not?

There is no sure way at all. It all depends on your body and what it can handle. I've had two preemies and I knew that there was at least higher precentage of me going in to preterm labor with my second. I never went into preterm labor with my first I was put into labor for that one at 35 weeks. I went into labor with my second at 33 weeks after only being on bed rest for less then a week. I had contractions all day they weren't painful just annoying and they weren't letting up nor stopping so I went into the hospital and stayed for two weeks and was relased the week that i had my son. I had him at 36 weeks and 6 days. So I was 8 months. If you live in the US most hospitals have a rule that they have to hold off labor till after your 34 to 35 weeks pregnant unless it puts you at risk to continue you pregnancy. Your doctor will know if you need to have the baby early or not. A lot of babies are typically bigger then then first baby not always but a lot of the times they are. My daughter was 4lbs and my son was 6lbs and we knew he was going to be a big baby. My body knew when it was time. Try not to worry about and just relax if your doctor doesn't see any signs of early labor then there isn't anything to worry about. Always tell them about what is hurting you and bothering you and if you think your having contractions then call or go in and get check out it's always best to go and get check out if your think something is going one.

I was put on bed rest with both of mine at 32 weeks I'm amazed I made it further in my second pregnancy then I did in my first. They where both totally different. I know you feel I'm a stay at home momma as well with both of my pregnancy. You could go in early labor but not as early unless you had complicatons which then your doctor will tell you to take it easy. If you are worried then I take it easy try not to walk a lot if you can. I know it can be hard when you have one child. Thus the reason we sent our daughter away when I was put on bed rest. I couldn't just say in bed or lay on the sofa all day because I had a 16 month old she was gone for a month. I didn't think I would have a second baby clothes in age. But my third pregnancy is the women I'll be tripled watch one since I've had two preemies there is complations to there health just greatful that they where both born happy and healthy with no issues other then little things. One has feet problems which is fixable and he'll out grow it but I"m a small women and will never make it to 40 weeks. I staid clamied and never worried too much because yes it does cause stress.

Thats the same advice I got when I was pregnant tell the doctor everything and if all else fails just go in and see them. However I'm just worried and I suppose excited for the new baby that I'm paranoid about having him early. Especially with the stress of being a stay at home mom. But I appreciate your story that makes me feel better. I had an appointment today and am 33 weeks along or so.

I am not doctor, so outside of your water breaking prematurely, I would have no idea. If you are having a lot of pain and other issues, I would contact your obstetrician as soon as possible. You may end up having your labour induced or something, but I would check in with your doctor ASAP.

I have consulted him several times and had went to see him an extra time he doesn't seemed worried about the pain. I just have to rest for awhile and the pain tends to go away which is good. It just stresses me out and I already have enough stress with moving this week then christmas which we havent made time or enough money to buy presents for everyone this year like we did last year and for our son. Then another baby on the way. It just is getting overwhelming and I just want this baby to either come early or have me just not be in pain so I can get through my days without having to stop every couple hours.

That is a lot on your plate! Just take everything one step at a time. Are you married/have a partner? Ask for their help and let them know if you get overwhelmed and need help. Are you able to take some early time off work before the delivery?

Hi, The experiences and discussions here all are fair. But in your present situations, it is strongly advised that you need to consult your routine doctor and that also whenever you feel something upnormal and feeling uneasiness. Also, better to avoid self medication and other short-cut decisions as it may lead to unwanted issues in the later state. Any way, as and when the child grows, the weight increases and the pressure may be more on your stomach. However, if the pain is so unbearable, visit the doctor at your earliest convenience.

Ohhh you are right early pain is more and even while borning the child more pain. Sometime premature baby's weight is more loose then put the child in glass box. 9 Months store the baby in our stomach means more pain but early 2 to 3 months no problem.

i'm not expert on this but with my experience and observation, maybe you should frequently see your doctor and ask some advice on what a better ways to do so you can avoid early labor. or maybe you should relax and eat healthy.

You should talk about that to your specialist that you visit. I did not experience something like that but have heared of some people that had early birth. I even had a friend she said she has born when she was just 5 months but suffer and had many surgeries on her as was uncomplete. As you have pain you should make it seriouse and talk to your doctor, as your doctor is the only one to understand and help you for that.

will there be a problem if you give birth 9 days in advance? They say it can be a week earlier or a week delayed on the exact counted due date. So it's a big baby, whew... WEll just be ready and everything will just do fine. relax.
