I broke a rule this morning. Went off the beaten track. I had plum cake for breakfast. Was tired of the standard items one normally has. Felt guilty though as I know cakes are eaten as snacks!

sez who cakes are eaten for snacks-- I'm a grown up-- and I eat cake for breakfast sometimes-- with a can of ginger ale. I gave up eating traditional foods at traditional times a while ago-- I like "breakfast" for dinner, lunch for a midnight snack-- as long as I eat healthy most of the time, I figure a slice of cake or some pudding every once in a while won't hurt me. that's the best part about being a grown up-- eating what you want when you want, in my opinion.

Vow!! Let me see how many more I will find here who belong to my clan of rule breakers. It is so ingrained in our system chrystalia that eating a plum cake for breakfast would be considered blasphemous if I went around talking about it here! So what's for dinner? Oatmeal porridge, toast and eggs (sunny side up)?

Actually, earlier tonight for dinner I had a real splurge-- a chicken, bacon, cheese and broccoli omelet, with a big bowl of apple slices, an orange, English muffin with strawberry jelly and cranberry juice. Tonight was a breakfast night, as far as I was concerned. Considering I had spaghetti leftovers with steamed veggies for breakfast, it only made sense to have breakfast for dinner. Heck, it would drive me nuts to have people being upset because I choose to eat foods I like, when I feel like them. Nobody I know is picky like that-- my boys and other half eat the way I do, generally, and when we go to a restaurant, which isn't often, we always go to ones that serve breakfast all the time. We are all big breakfast fans. I'm having a really neat potato and veggie casserole for breakfast tomorrow

If no one else atleast my stomach will ask all kinds of questions. It is used to a particular pattern and it likes it that way! Go ahead and confuse your belly chrystalia and convey my sympathies to it

I'm like Chrys up above. I eat everything and anything, at any time of the day. If I changed my pattern from doing this, then my stomach would wonder why! There are many times I eat what you call breakfast for dinner, and vice versa. I have also woken up at 4 in the morning starving and made a complete meal for myself like spaghetti and meatballs. It's just the way I am. And it never has bothered my stomach. I think it just keeps my metabolism going and it all works out great.

Now don't forget, not everyone can do this. If you have a sensitive stomach it won't work. If your body is used to eating the way you normally do, then I would ease into any changes, if you're going to do something drastic like this, haha! Now this morning I ate sort of normally...2 eggs, cottage cheese, and mashed potatoes..yum. Hmmm, I'm making myself hungry again..hahaha!

You are loud and clear Kash.... Don't worry I will not follow your bad example! And your feeling hungry just by thinking of food is a good sign - praise the Lord!

Nice to meet such colourful personalities here! You have trained your stomach well and so has chrystalia for it to be ready and waiting for a variety of food and that too at odd times. I must re-revisit my science notes written years ago and make some corrections there - thanks to you!

Cheat who? My poor stomach? That is the only place that takes the brunt of what our tongue dictates!
