If you have a good working environment, good salary and good boss, will you still choose self employed or work at home? Do you think a person's character determine what career he or she should involve with? For me, I am a person who cannot be control or follow schedules all the time, so I choose flexible. What about you? What would you to do?

I have followed you and your work history for many months. It seems to me that you have a terrible time with structure on the job. As soon as you have to face someone else's rules you get out of that job. I think you are very wise to understand this and to find a way to work for yourself. For me this would never work I like to work with a group and to do something with guide lines and rules. I like to work in a people type job that helps others. I hate being in charge of anyone else so don't like being the boss. If you are lucky enough to find your limitations early in your career you can find a job to fit and not get stuck in a job you hate. Blessings

hello savypat, You are right! On my way to job all these years almost 10 years all I can feel is hate and doubt because I haven't found my passion yet, I can say I hate in charge of a pile of paperwork with datelines as I knew it after I work in an office. In 2007 I discover this call center job where I work with a team of people, we can help each other and work towards target, this is very suitable for me, but the most vital thing that matters and contribute to my success is trust. Employers need to trust their employee when they delegate work to them, it does not matter what work you do as long as you trust them. This will give them confidence and joy to do your work. I also don't like to set up own office and do offline work but at home probably is the best way to earn some money online. Thanks for the comment. It enlightens me.And hope that you are in well health. Merry Christmas

If I think I can, I will choose to be self-employ. Everyone want to be our own boss, including me. But if I am not able to be more better than being employed, I would like to work i a good working environment with good salary.

working with others is good! it lets you experience how to handle people. you can learn from them, and they can learn from you.. So, yeah, working with others is good, right ? ;)

I love this life of being self-employed. Of being "my own boss". No suit, no commute, and the boss is really cute! LOL (joke)

I've always worked in a corporate office, where I have a boss, have deadlines and schedules to adhere to. I am a good follower and work best when I have something to achieve as set by a leader or an organization. I'm no longer working now, but I have never started my online job plans. There are always considerations running in my head. I don't think it'll be easy for me to work independently until I really get in to it and get used to it. With that being said, I believe that a person's character does determine the right career they should be in. If they happen to be in the wrong place, they will never be happy and just feel stuck.

If you really need some money. But if you are contented on what you have, then stay. But there is an advantage and disadvantage of working at home and working at a good company..

I would be self employed if I could but it is hard to start your own business when you do not have no money at all to be able to get started. Do you know of anywhere where you can get a good job working online? Everything that I find seems to turn out to be a scam.

I agree with you wong.. I prefer to have a flexible work time instead of getting scheduled and target oriented kind of work. Though, now I still need work under the command of my boss in a company, but I am preparing for the time when I don't need to get salary under a very strict company. I would like to build my online business, where I can sell my products. It is a quite simple business, but it needs hard work in marketing the products.

I believe a person's character drives his/her direction in life. A person needs to adapt to his environment and situation to be able to survive and most of the time when this person strives towards achieving a goal, he/she succeeds. In my case, I believe I am the type who is myself's own boss. I dream not to work under any company except my own, although there's really very small chance of that happening now. If I was in a desperate situation, I would definitely choose to stay in the case you have just given. That would be survival instinct and common sense.

I think certain people should do certain jobs according to their personality. Sometimes people are doing the wrong job for their personality and it shows. I've seen people that work in places dealing with the public and are rude and miserable, like they don't want to be there. I don't think they should be there either! They shoud find something else where they can be happier.

I spent many years in my life working for other people where they were constantly breathing down my back and I don't like that at all. So, while I would still be able to work for someone else, I don't want to have a job that is a high stress job, and most importantly of all for me, I would really love to have a job where I wouldn't get in trouble if I needed to be off of work because my children were sick or my husband had a doctor's appointment I wouldn't be in jeopardy of losing my job. I might be making a lot less working at home, but at least I know that no one is going to reprimand me for having to take time off to watch my children or be with my husband.

hi there, given the two choices, well, perhaps, i will choose both if that is permitted. but if not, i will choose the work with a good salary, good boss and a good working environment. even i am handling my own small business now, i can still adopt an environment wherein a boss will direct you. hence, i can still work under a restricted time with very minimal supervision. so it is not a big deal if i will be back under the desk job type of work.

I really like my current job, however, I think it would be cool to basically work for myself (if I could make enough money in the process)! Although, no matter what I would do, I would still want to be around people and interact with others. Otherwise, working at home could wind up being sorta lonely...

Well, I would love to try other things. I think I will grow more as a person if I challenge myself to perform beyond my comfort zone. As the saying goes, "You cannot discover new oceans unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore".
