Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago on Tuesday said that she was not impressed by the concert of high-octane performer Jennifer Lopez. The senator said the show was too loud and she preferred the opera and ballet. Santiago said that she watched Lopez's concert for "exposure" and "total immersion." "I was shocked beyond belief at the attack, the assault on my ears. It was so loud and there were so many people," she said. "They turned themselves into a frenzy so actually they were worshiping at the foot of someone who is no longer human, they transformed her, she morphed into a digital idol," she added. Santiago said that in her opinion, the country needs more classical musicians, opera singers, and ballet dancers. Source: http://bit.ly/UZchPm i was totally shocked she watched the JLO concert in manila. she's not really the type of person who would attend a "party" concert.

I saw and read this last night- lols. Well, that is her opinion. What made me wonder is- she decided herself to watch the concert and no one forced her and now she comes out complaining-duh.

I wonder what she'll say if she'll watched concerts of Aerosmith or any rock bands. What she's looking for are those types of music. So I guess she better go and watch those types only. No doubt she will enjoy it. I bet JLO and her music is not a new to her.. so why such harsh reaction from her.

that's also my thought. come on i think doesn't she have any idea of how jennifer lopez is known as an entertainer? maybe the lady senator would consider watching adele in concert.

Different strokes for different folks that's all I can say. Miriam and jlo are ages apart, beside it's her opinion so let's just leave it at that.

Correct ybong! Miriam's choice of songs aren't that of J. Lo's anymore. How much more the outfits.

Well it looks like The senator is already old for her genre already. She could not appreciate the beauty behind all of those frenzy thing. I can understand her not liking it of course. I think she was brought up on a very conservative family and I think she is doing it until today but of course she has limed already. That is maybe the reason why she attended this concert out of curiosity.

I couldn't imagine her myself to be in a concert such as that. For her to comment that way, well, it is her opinion. But what does she expect in a concert like that of J.Lo? Jennifer Lopez is not an opera singer and so she should have expected that there would be loud music.

maybe heart evangelista, one of her best friends, suggested this to her. and she went there out of curiosity. well this is just a wild guess.

i think miriam santiago is not really into live performance of a singer-dancer. why did she went there if she prefers classical music? well i think her reaction to Jlo's concert is not important since huge fans trooped into the arena to watched.

maybe she just wanted to be immersed to pop culture. anyways, she used her own money to buy the ticket.

It only shows how bad Miriam really is as a person. What is she trying to prove here? That she is more "class" because she prefers opera and ballet. Everyone knows that opera and ballet are entertainment for the bourgeois. If she really hated JLo, she shouldn't have gone to the concert because everyone in their right minds will know that JLo will not sing opera. I guess Miriam forgot what concert she was attending and then just to prove that she has "class" bashed on how loud it was.

Oh. I was shocked also that the brilliant Senator watched the concert...but anyways, she has a point of saying that she watched the show in order to have a total immersion...yes. You have to immersed in what the public will do in a concert like that...so as a result, she would have danced and danced...

I was planning to create a discussion about her reaction. but the thing is, her reaction to JLO isn't even worth my time. because first and foremost, Jlo's a different performer than what Mirriam's prescribe during her time when she was acking for good quiet music. my mom loves those music that the senator was describing. but this is our generation and JLO's music depends on demand of the current generation. it's the same goes with the 80's and 90's bands..she's only KSP, that's all i can understand on her reaction

I guess Senator Merriam Santiago isn't much of a fan to Jennifer Lopez nor a person who likes the style or genre J.Lo is performing. I'm a fan of both personalities. I think the senator said it because she wasn't exposed to it and also knowing that she is a politician and no te for those entertainment, I would consider her opinion. With regards to her advice on what we should be looking up to, I think she's right. . Let's focus unto something classical because it is more efficient and also helps us.

When I first read this in yahoo news, i really cant stop myself from grinning. Well, seems like J.Lo wasn't able to impress her. We all have our own opinions and let us just face it, the younger generations, most of them, would fall asleep if you'll bring them to an opera or a ballet presentation.

J. Lo concert - This year’s topped Forbes influential list, Jennifer Lopez (J. Lo) has decided to include Manila in her concert tour titled “Dance Again”.
Miriam Defensor-Santiago attending the live of Jennifer Lopez is unbelievable! Now she has expose herself to the music generation of today, and got a generation shock of her life, LOL! But I wonder what she meant of "total immersion"? Have a nice evening. Ciao!

the distinguished lady senator would say anything just so she can hog the limelight. she shouldn't have watched the concert in the first place if her preference were ballets and operas. this is another lame attempt on senator santiago's part to be talked about. boooooooooooooo!!!

r=I don't know but maybe somebody a gave her an invitation or dared her. She then decided to check it out. After all, we are all entitled to see what otehr music and musicians have to offer. However, I think she's eaisly disappointed because its not her taste and clearly, anyone with her age bracket will think so. I remember my mom being dis gusted at my v n brother because he attended some rock concerts and plays hardly recognizable lyrics in his room. But he got over and so did she.

Hmmm.. MS: I was shocked beyond belief at the attack, the assault on my ears. It was so loud and there were so many people. JLo: And who are you? OHhh a senator? who cares? what are you doing in my concert anyway? MS: for "exposure" and "total immersion.". JLo: Yes, now that you were exposed, can you immerse? A typical senator MS, what is she doing in the concert she knew wouldn't fit her. yes, to be exposed and immersion. Whoaaa... why does she need exposure when she won't run anymore for the seat she is no a judge of some international court why does she need this. She should have seen the concerts in CCP for ballet and thing. Immersion to people, when she can not stand people's views different from hers. When she was new in the politics, I really like her because whoaa.. she's an iron lady very determined person very straight forward. but things became so different when something snapped at her brain. She was so horrible during the corona impeachment. My goodness her mouth can't be stopped and no propriety. She says want she wanted to say. So unlikely of a senator. So disappointing
