What's your stance on capital punishment?

I'm unsure to be honest. On one hand, I think the 'an eye for an eye' saying is pretty accurate. And I'm talking rapists, paedophiles and murderers here, not shoplifters and fraudsters. But on the other, in alot of cases I don't think death is a punishment for most of the criminals. Just an easy way out. I think they should have to live with what they have done until the day they die. I'm not 100% sure what to think really.

I don't know either... The only thing I don't really like about it is that there are some decisions which are wrong, and no innocent people deserves to die. But on the other hand, there are some people who deserve to die, and also, if they just stay in the prison, their food, accommodation, the electricity etc. is paid from the money we pay in taxes...

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. i have always believed that there is no issue in legalizing the capital punishment. i think just because we have not legalized this punishment we are seeing so many crimes happening every day. if it is legalized and is practiced in reality then it will create a feeling of danger and alertness in the minds of all criminals who are planning to strike terror in the future but unfortunately this is not happening and the result is an increase in crimes. What say?
