I see certain posts and status updates that get many "likes" on Facebook. Does it mean that the person who posted these well-liked posts are also well-liked people? I mean, how come some people attract so man "likes" on their posts? Do you "like" posts on Facebook because you like the updates? Or do you make it a point to "like" all your friends' posts? Sometimes I have posts without zero "likes" and at times I feel lucky when a number of persons "like" my posts. What makes you "like" a post on Facebook? Do you "like" posts by people you don't even know?

There are times when I feel happy about having a post that's been liked but oftentimes I just don't really care. I mean, sometimes I post for the sake of informing or just letting off steam, so whether it's been liked or not, it wouldn't have mattered to me. On the other hand, I tend to like posts that I find likable, although I have to admit that I sometimes use the like button as joke.

I don't know why people are liking the posts in Facebook. Still I do like the posts. If I am liking it,most probabaly it should be of my friends posts, their photos or comments etc. But I don't why I am liking it,what the benefit of it. Even I posts something in Facebook, if I get more likes I becoome happy but for that also I don't know why I am happy after seeing that.Really funny....

I think it is because it means that our friends are listening to us when they like our posts.

These people has as many as thousands of friends on their account. So their status is visible to them. Just like here in mylot, when you see a discussion good, you rate it "+". and when you dont, you simply ignore, or rate it "-", though there is no dislike button as this may cause facebook and venue for trouble among them all. When you get online, you will facebook posts that has many likes. It would depend on how many among your friends are close to you. So, though having many friends on an account will increase exposure of your post, it is also important that you have a personal relationship with them.

That is right. I think I have more than a thousand friends on Facebook because I'd been requesting for friendship and adding all those who request as I am using this as a sort of billboard for my little business. The "personal relationship" you mentioned is the ingredient that is missing since many of my "friends" in Facebook are actually strangers.

Hi there cutie18f, There were times before I don't even get a like or comment on every status updates I post. Even on photos. But I wonder what has changed that almost every status and albums I post gets likes and comments. And I think it is because people find it interesting, nice or they can just relate with the post made. Because I myself would like or comment to a post or photo if I really like it or can relate to it.

Oh, so you only like those posts in which you can relate to---sounds matter of fact to me.

No, we family have some sort of agreement that we have not even discussed among each other. We are family who has been friends in facebook too. It is just like respect for each other. If the post is from my friends or picture of my friend shared to me or tagged to me, even if they see it no ones "Like" it. If I am with the friend and tagged me with. They "Like" it. but only to those photos where they see me. i don't "like" and we dont "like" pictures of friend of friend. Being popular, yes maybe she/he got a lot of friends to have them "LIKE" all the posts done.

I thought when you have friends they are supposed to "like" your updates but they don't.

Hey cutie, to answer to your question, i personally like someone's post when I feel that it's meaningful. Either that or i agree wtih what the post is saying. I won't like all updates cause that's just pointless. However, you are right, sometimes when i post something, i'll feel happy when people like it or leave a comment on it :)

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. yes u are absolutely correct, sometimes even i am amazed to see how likes shots up on vague pics but very less likes on some apt pics. It keeps me puzzling all the time regarding the genuineness behind the people liking the pics and posts. Coming back to me, i like all my friends pics and posts so that they can gauge that i am in touch with them and i too leave honest comments if i like any pic personally. What say?
