Maybe it's because I can't get into the Christmas spirit but most of the Christmas movies depress me and so do the specials. Unless it's a group that I like and their doing other songs I especially don't like to watch people sing Christmas Carols for 2 hours. Everyone I know loves that old Christmas movie It's a Wonderful life but to me it's depressing. Also the one with the little boy who wants a bebe gun or sled (I forget which it is). My son especially loves that movie in fact last year I bought him big tin filled with popcorn and it had pictures from that movie. Of course he loved it. How do you feel about movies made about Christmas and just listening to Christmas Carols on tv?

I don`tlike much Christmas movies and I do`nt like some other movies either (such as horror movies). But they do not depress me because I don`t watch it. You don`t have to watch a movie. Even if you have a kid, there are other Christmasy things you can do, those you will both enjoy. This Christmas, I`ll decorate cupcakes for Christmas eve with my 9 year old grandson. We will also watch a movie abot the Roman Empire. We`ll have lots of fun together and no reindeers.

I agree. I used to bake things with my kids and we had a ton of fun. We only had a few movies we liked to watch every year...Prancer, Home Alone (first one) and sometimes the Peanuts one. THey never did like the cartoon ones like Frosty the Snowman etc.
What my kids always kind of liked (but never admitted!) was to re arrange the ornaments on the tree or decorations in the house! Move that ornament over by this one..or move that candle over there and this arrangement over here. THat was fun and It was nice to see the deorations different every couple a dayS!

This Chrismas, we won`t have a Christmas tree at my daughter`s house. The tree is in the attic and my daughter has to get the thing with a big ladder. She has had terrible back pains lately and has a problem in a disc. So there will be a manger instead. I got the old manger from my chilhood, but my daughter is making the Holy Family with my grandson. It`s going to be a curious manger: some of the clay animals are crocodiles, hippos and dinosaurs (guess who made them
). My daughter made a beautiful Holy Family. I think that`s the true Christmas spirit.

Christmas songs really cheers my soul up. It reminds me of my childhood singing carolings, Christmas parties and many vacation trips. Also, during christmas is really something because of no classes.

I actually like the Christma movies, even the kid one's, but I don't like to listen to people singing. I don't like musical movies or specials.
The movie you mentioned "It's a Wonderful Life" is one of my favorites along with quite a few others. The other movie you're talking about is called "A Christmas Story" and the house is actually about 15 minutes away from where I live. I love that movie too and watch it every year along with "A Christmas Carol"..the old version.
Why do these depress you? Is it because you are alone watching them? Sometimes that makes me a bit sad, but I try to shake it off.
I listen to Christmas carols on the radio at this time of the year to. Now I feel bad for you.
