I myself love watching some of the old school shows that are in black and white still(I love Lucy) etc. Those days the actors had style and good humor and of course clean which is lacking today.

Good morning crystal and welcome to myLot. When I was young back in the dinosaur days (The 50's) As my son likes to tell me We only had black and white TV as well as only one station. I first saw a television when I was about 8 years old. A friend of me and my brother ask us over to watch the program the Howdy Doody show. The next year I was living with my aunt and she also had a black and white TV. We didn't have programing all day and all night. When my son joined the military in 1980 that we had our first color TV

I am very fortunate that i had watched a black and white television back when i was still a kid. I had the experience of watching such early television gadgets back in my Grand Parent's house. It was quite interesting although the reception was quite "scratchy" watching such television would let you appreciate it's advent if you would look back from the old tv's to the present flat tv's we are using.

I experienced this. It was a big deal back then. If you have a black and white TV, you're already considered *kinda* rich. It's like having a 32" LED flat screen today. I wanted to keep that TV because it would cost a lot selling that today. I think they don't make those anymore and it would count as a valuable antique.

Hi crystal! I was able to watch a black and white tv during my time when I visited my cousin who is living on a nearby town. We cannot afford such luxury during my childhood days.

When I was a kid, I remember that we have this black and white tv that is inside a cabinet or wooden casing or something. It's got it's own legs and it have this panel that you can swipe open or close to reveal the television screen. Then to switch channels, you have to twist the dials. I don't know whatever happened to our tv but during the 90s we have these colored television with the huge back until we all change them to LED TVs with a more efficient energy saving system.

When I was a kid till the age of 10, I (my family) didn't have a TV set at all. The first one my parents bought was a white-and-black TV. That day was memorable for me. I looked at that thing as to the eighth wonder of the world. Just watching the images moving on the screen seemed to me surreal. The times changed now.

I did watched black-and-white TV, at my grandmother house, I kind of miss it sometimes. there are times where I completely remove color on my TV just to recreate that old feeling of black-and-white TV.

I remember watching black and white tv as a kid and a few years back, changed my color tv into black and white and my kids didn't handle it well. some of the greatest tv shows that I can think of were in black and white.

I grew up with old movies and shows. My grandfather helped start some theaters when he was in his 20s and compiled his own collection of 16mm and 32mm films through the years. The old shows are pretty simple and mostly unrealistic, but they're fun every now and then. They're not very durable, though.

Yes! I remember watching black-and-white tvs through my teens. My grandparents upgraded to the "fancy color tv" when I was around 19. We had a color tv in our home by the time I hit 4th grade. I also remember when the only channels we could get were local channels on 2, 4, and 5, the educational channel on 9, 11, and 30. There was supposedly another station on 24, but we were never able to get that channel. I always thought of channel 11 as the channel with the Roller Derby. 30 had a lot of movies. 11 and 30 didn't always come in. We thought it was awesome when we could actually choose between 6 different channels! As an adult, I just started using cable in the last 6 years or so. I'm so behind the times!!!

Yes i feel lucky to see all the generations of tv. I watched White-and-black tv. Color tv, remote controlled tv to latest 3D tv. There lot development in digitization picture clarity and sound clarity. We had Hd videos, the present generation little bit unlucky they don.t know white-and-black tv or even computer. Life shows life programmes are available now a days at a very faster rate of transfer. Present day tv is more comfortable one.

I watch black and white tv until i am 9years old and then we have enough money to buy color TV. Yes, we can enjoy the colorful pictures on color TV, good quality. Now, we have digital TV, it is amazing since we can have a lot of program to choose from. That's all owing to technology.
