Grandfather slowly dieing

Last night my dad was telling me that my grandfather that is 93 has no decide to go into the Hospices (that is a place people go to die when no help can be really given health wise) He doesn't want to live not more and his body is slowly dieing. His kidney's are failing he won't eat at all. So right now he is slowly starving himself and the doctors can't make him eat at all because he signed a DNR (Do Not Resesitate). we are just awaiting to hear when he passes.
When my Grandmother was a live she told me dad that we are all to choice weather to see him before he dies or after to say our good byes. For him to be bared in a pine box. My grandmother never thought she would go before him. so we are all fallowing her wishes. I've picked to stay back this around and when it comes to the funeral I will go because I can't take the kids and I can't leave them twice in the same a month. The reason why say that is because my uncle had a dream like he did with my grandmother that my grandfather is going to die on the 23 of December to destroy all of our Christmas but we will not let that happen if he goes on that day he goes and we will celebrate Christmas and then plan his funeral.

He has no disease. He's old and mean that is all it is. He's always mean even before I was born and he was old.

I don't know if he had a good time this year he is 93 years old no much to do and he is alone now and doesn't like anyone. Well he has never liked anyone very.

so sad to hear . But i don't understand why your uncle is so much worried about Christmas celebration , There is no need to worry so much as it comes every year. Its about the persons life and the person leaving us we should think , even though we cant do anything. I don't think Christmas celebration is more important than a person.

I never said anyone was worry about Christmas. I said that is my grandfathers way of wrecking Christmas for the rest of us. Yes Christmas comes every but Christmas only comes once for little kids for the first time. I have two little ones and one of my little's it's the first Christmas and last Christmas was my daughters first Christmas and it wasn't a very good one because I was told I had a miscarriage.
So to me Christmas is important this year for my little ones. Maybe others don't understand but my parents get it. That and my grandfather hates everyone since he is a very mean old man he has never been nice ever.

Oh! So poor. Sometimes the old ones go negative as they go older and older because they fell they have no use at all that why some oldies prefer to die, especially when they are sick, than to see their children running out of money and sacrificing just because they're trying to extend their loved ones' lives.
This makes me sad :(

That isn't how it is for our family. My grandfather has all of his money still that pays for all the things he needs even medical wise. He just is old and stubborn and just doesn't want to live any more at all. He doesn't want to extend his life in any way which is fine. He is still mentally all there for sure.

Hi Shybear,
that is too selfish of you... Yes it is true that Christmas comes only once a year. But remember this... YOU WILL HAVE MANY MORE CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION in the coming years but there will not be MANY GRANDFATHERS.. He is only one of a kind and you should see that he is most happy this christmas... In fact, if he lives till christmas, you should try to make it his most happiest christmas ever. Let the poor soul pass
