i'm liking the current story line for 'the shield' in wwe and although...

it is similar to other invasion-type story lines like the nwo, the nexus, the wcw/ecw alliance, i have an inkling that this will be a different and better one as long as wwe creative makes the 'real' reason of the shield to go berserk on ryback and the other wrestlers under wraps. to reveal the reason, what ever it is, if they are nexus version 2, or if they are under paul heyman and cm punk, this early on, will make fans lose interest in the shield.
anyway, i really haven't followed dean ambrose, seth rollins, and roman reigns' nxt exploits. i think a level of anonymity is good for the shield. i would have preferred that they would have carried out their attacks while wearing masks. anyway, keeping the wwe fans in the dark about the real reason for their actions keep things more interesting. i personally won't be surprised if they are colluding with paul heyman and cm punk but again that is expected so that might be a letdown of sorts. i'm expecting that someone else, someone bigger would be behind the shield perhaps vince mcmahon himself or maybe even triple h or maybe *gasps* john cena and this ultimately becomes the start of a john cena heel turn!!!!

I watch NXT so its so weird for me that the NXT Seth Rolins and the WWE Seth Rolins are 2 different people. I mean n WWE he is a heel and he is a top Face in NXT and he is doing t at the same time. LOL playing 2 different characters at the same time. I saw his work in FCW and he is really great. He got over because of his crazy gimmick, yes he have a crazy gimmick like Aj, minus kissing multiple people.

i don't get to watch wwe nxt at all. perhaps, i've been able to catch a couple of episodes and that was it. i liked the old wwe nxt format better. anyway, seth rollins being a face in nxt and being a heel in wwe is a testament of his skills. i think being an effective face or heel in a whim is very hard to do and if someone can do it effectively, then, big things are in store for that person.
like i said, i'm big on this shield gimmick by wwe. i do hope that they don't botch this. i can see the shield following up their great tlc match with another great showing at royal rumble and perhaps a bigger role in the next wrestlemania. i don't see the shield going on separate ways this early in their storyline. i honestly think they haven't reached their peak yet as a group. i see the shield being one of the better stables in wwe alongside dx, legacy, taker's ministry, among others.
curious as to what seth rollins' gimmick is at wwe nxt. i'm going to look it up now.

They only problem with masks is you can tell who the person is by their tats or body size. They should bring in some guys who are unknown to the WWE and let them cause havoc, then a short time later have them reveal themselves and then they could build on that story line. I know that TNA Impact Wrestling is Hulk's gig and Vince is going to buy it so he can flip the story line between the WWE and TNA. I like Paul Heyman, he made Brock Lesner and he's a great promoter. It will be interesting to see how they take all the hype and build it up.

haven't really thought about it before you mentioned it. you raised a good point, even with masks, fans can readily identify wrestlers through a number of things. i just figured that it would add some mystery if a wrestler wears masks and a set of clothing to cover up tattoos and what not. it worked with the aces and 8s story line of tna wrestling so it might work with wwe.
about bringing in new talent, that's a good idea really. wwe should bring a couple of wrestlers from their developmental leagues and mess about with the current roster causing mayhem and havoc like what you said. maybe they can pull it off just before royal rumble.
really a big fan of paul heyman. i'm seriously considering buying a 'i'm a paul heyman guy' shirt from the wwe website. been a fan of his work since the pre-wwe ecw days. the guy is a good mouth piece and has no doubt contributed in the rise of brock lesnar then and of cm punk right now. anyway, i'm glad his back and i'm hoping that he takes the shield under his wings and takes these group to higher places. while on the topic, hopefully we see more manager and valet characters in the wwe. these characters definitely add color to the show.
