Good for you. Why do you think somebody would work for others? If you have all the necessary, I mean house, money, shortly things one needs for living, of course why work for others. Nobody would. What a pity that life is not exactly we like it to be. Good luck.

May I just ask the reason for your decision? As someone already stated above, there are pros and cons to veering away from the employed path, and this actually takes a lot of self-reflection. For example, you won't be working for anyone anymore, that's a good thing, but this also means that you won't have a source of stable income. Freelancing and/or entrepreneurship seems good choices, but I tell you, (from personal experience), that it will take a *lot* of work -- are you up for it? This means working more than the usual 8 hours, and without the usual job perks (medical benefits, corporate bonuses) to boot. Also, if you stop working, even for a day, then it means you lose income -- are you still interested? And, if you do freelance, take note that you will still be working for someone else: not a boss, but for a client. Some clients are are even more horrible than the usual corporate bosses --- could you stomach that? If you say yes to all these... well, that's just the first step. If not, I think you do have to reconsider your plan.

Most people will think you're crazy for thinking like this, but it's obvious that you're an independent thinker, which is a good thing I may add. I think if you're able to be your own boss, then go for it. Good luck to you.

you are right on how some people will think about my decision on this but the real truth is that, everybody cannot like one thing and alots of things contribute to our choice making in this and like me, there are some things that made me have this kind of mindset on this issue and one of such thing is my growing up. i grew up with three of my uncles. they all work as a sailor and still working till now. the first one that started the work have worked as a sailor now about twenty years while the rest two have worked for about fifteen years now but they dont have a house of theirs and apart from the fact that they are not living comfortably, they dont have time for their family even their wives don't behaviour well just becos of their work and when they are going to work, they run to work not having decision of either to go to work or not. i cant stand of answering sir to people for all my life and ve come along way in learning things about life and going through professional courses which i have intention of investing on when am through with my first degree which am on now. my believe about working for anybody is that, you cant live and be happy cos, one day you will surely be sacked no matter your effort on the firm you work for. but palz, i need links for online biz.thanks for all ur contributions

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i do not know what led u to take this decision of not working for anyone in your life but i think whenever u take your decision, do not take it in a haste, rather think from all corners and then figure it out whether your decision would be correct or not. It may be that some people do not want to work for someone rather create their own identity by creating something of their own with the dint of their hard work and may be u can do that if your think that your decision is firm. What say?

well there.. Im lucky I own my own business here. But many times I wish Id work for someone else. As you know owning your own business can be costly. many times you are working for free. At least as someones employee you are guaranteed at a salary. So there are its good and its bads.
