Twice a day I give my cats I give my cats half a can of wet food. They have the dry food to pick on during the day but morning and night are special for them. I don't like giving them wet cat food but when I got them that was what the previous owner gave them and I didn't want to change their routine. I put the wet food in a saucer and one of my cats cleans his plate...the other one always eats most of it but there is always some left on the floor around his plate! Some times the other cat will go over to the other plate and eat the food left on the floor. Do you feed your cat dry or wet food? Are they messy where they eat or do they clean their plate?

I have two cats and use an auto-feeder with dry food. I feed them wet food a couple of times a day.
Cats may be meticulous when keeping themselves clean, but when it comes to eating, it's no holds barred in my household. I am constantly sweeping up stray crunchies strewn about the floor. And wet food?! My cats are slobs! Don't ask me how, but they will be knoshing down on meaty bits or shreds in gravy and pieces of food just seem to fly out of their mouths on to nearby walls, cabinets, and most definitely, the floor. What is up with that?
Oops... gotta go. Gotta pick tuna chunks out of their water bowl.

I feed both mine dry and wet food as this is good for their system. If you feed just one of either, you will ultimately kill your cat, and lower their life span. What kind of wet food do you feed them? It could be that they dont care for that certain type, which is why they leave it and make a mess. Mine inhale it that nothing is left, even on the floor. Have you tried different bowls? I had to get them very deep bowls as mine had a trouble chewing.

My cat has dry food during day time, which I just mostly leave out so he can each whenever he wants. But I feed him wet food every night. This is something he really, really looks forward to. He just really loves his wet food. Especially the beef chunks with gravy. He goes crazy over it! So yes, when he eats he can get messy. I sometimes end up stepping on a couple of chunks of meat or salmon on the floor. I tried using a placemat but he sometimes ends up pushing the entire mat around the room so it's really more of a nuisance. The "spill" is usually just limited to around his bowl so I just make sure to wipe the floor when I get his food bowl for washing. As for dry food, I just hate it when it ends up in his water bowl. Grosses me out and worse, I think it grosses my cat out. So I just have a few water bowls so he still has access to clean water every time.

i don't have cats.. but my dog does. He has long hair and it is unavoidable for him to dip his hair on the food or water or milk. After eating his mouth is dripping, I will either give him a bath, wash his face or dry it with his towel it is normal with them they have hair that dips on the pan of wet food. don't be upset with them, they are very good companions and very sweet fellows.

Well , I dont have a cat, But my best friend does.... So It's my cat indirectly :P
That cat is fed with Whiskas (Dry cat food) and normally given Milk and Fish to eat. Its just a simple cat which he found roadside, and bought her when she was a kitten. She lost her mother in an accident. :(
