Do you find that tv has become too much a part of some peoples lives? Like when mom/dad want kids to behave they put them in front of tv with some shoe.. If you interrupt someone during their favorite show they snap at you .. Why is it that TV has become so much more important than communiticating I was amazed to see how much time a small child of four could spend on an digital handheld and that this child had so mastered all the games on it. .and if the child wasn't playing on the game the child had to be watching some video on tv.. .. I know I have a friend who will easily spend time on facebook games or mobile games.. or watch that favorite move but should someone want to talk .. without those things present it's absolutely impossible. It's like the person is glue do the cell phone.. the laptop.. the tv.. do you think it can be too much?

Technology has brought many things to mankind and each with it's own pros and cons, I could safely say. The world today presents media through televisions, computers and gadgets such as cellphones, tablets, and the likes, and the media is a vast source of information, entertainment and almost everything else including methods of communication, so we tend to get hooked up on this. I guess it's only too much when we lose touch on our human side, like when we forget what a smile or that look in the eye means, etc.

I agree. Technology has done so much.. but it has taken over so much too.. I think the true test of how reliant we have become to our gadgets and devices is try to do with out them for a day.. Or consider. .how doe we react when someone comes into our technology space and asks us a favor or for some time.. Is playing a game, watching a tv show, sitting on the internet more important than improving our relationships with the 3d people around us?

I guess life would be so difficult now that we are so used to having these things around us. I couldn't leave my home without my cellphone and if I do forget it I would certainly go back for it. I don't remember a day I have without surfing the internet because I had sites to check into even for a short while everyday. I believe that the only way to actually remedy this is to keep a balance between real life interaction with the people we care and love and the use of technology. My girlfriend would definitely scold me if I spend more time sending text messages or reading online articles when I am with her rather than just spending quality time with her.

People definitely spend to much time on computers, videogames and watching TV. Especially when parents sit their children in front of the TV if their to busy to take care of the child. The TV is definitely not a replacement for a nanny.A child needs interaction with other people to be well socially adusted.Though TV and video games are fine providing its only for a reasonable amount of time and part of a lifestyle that contains other activities.

Love you answer anklesmash. I think moderate amounts of these things is okay. .keyword being moderate. We all need diversion but not saturation.

Hmm... there seems to be a problem with obesity in children. Gee, I wonder why. Think sitting on one's a$$ all day is a contributing factor? Of course, strictly a rhetorical question. We all know the answer. There has been speculation that technology inhibits a young person's ability to interact in a public social environment. When you let your fingers do the talking through texting, Facebook, messaging, there is minimal development of social skills. Technology and change are good things, but it supposed to make our lives easier, not take us out of the 'real' human race. Total dependency on electronics for basic functions and communication is pitiful.

I guess I would never be so progressive as to diagnose obesity or label children..that was never the intention of this post..but to make people aware: tall or thin, fat or skinny, shy or not.. that there is need for balance in everything.. that is all.. Pointing fingers at one group of people and saying because your fat.. you should stop watching tv is wrong..Some people were meant to be heavier..so I think

yes, there are many people who are addicted to computer, TV, games. that's too much and that kind of people cannot control time. Moreover, such kind of people canot bear any interruption when they are on computers, TV or games. It is just too weird. Why can you stop for a while. It is not good for their health. We should regulate our time on such things. have a nice day.

I don't want it to be interpreted wrong: I believe that all these things are good when used in moderation: games help the mind . TV brings us news and provides entertainment and computers/internet connect us to people we would never be able to connect to. But, when they become more a priority . .than people or obligation.. when they take the place of communicating with people we should be talking to; I think it's too much. I like your points that you mention. hope you have a nice day too :) Joy
