i text a lot and most of the high end phones in the market are touch screen ones. it is so difficult to text using these phones. I feel so irritated. Why can't the manufacturers understand that not every one Loves touch screen phones. even middle aged people like my mother finds it difficult to use such phones with small icons all over the screen. I' love to keep upgrading my Phones. and I normally purchase phones that cost US $400 to $450.. its frustrating when I can pay but there are not products in the market they must at least launch models that has both touch and qwerty key pad in one phone. that way they can keep every one happy.

This is more personal, i don't use touchscreen phones but my relatives love those phones. manufacturers are manufacturing what is in the demand, good sale of normal mobile phones also keep bringing normal phones.

I though the same way, but only the high school kids love such phones. I spoke to people around me, my friends and even my girl friend's friends prefer both options in one phone. Ease of navigation in touch screen and comfort of typing on key pad

Touch and qwerty? I guess Blackberry has this type of phone and also Nokia. I also find it hard to text using touch screen. I'm kinda slow. I'm using qwerty now and my sister's using touch. I prefer to use qwerty when I'm rushing. I also hope they will produce more user-friendly phones with nice apps.

Oh, that's the problem. Yes, that's inconvenient. When your typing smoothly then suddenly a little movement changes to qwerty. It's better to have a simple phone. LOL.

yes, that is correct. all I need is good screen resolution, powerful camera and fast processor . I do not like slow basic phones.

I wish the same too. well I'm currently using a touch screen phone, and it slides side ways to open a qwerty key pad. but its been 7 months since I purchased that. I trying to get a more advanced phone, but now there is no phone with such option in market any more

This certainly is a downside to many of the mobile phones today. I tried to avoid having a touch screen for a long time because I did not like the idea of putting my fingers all over the screen on a regular basis, but If you want a good quality phone then seems to be the only choice. The size of the screen, even on the largest models, is far too small to take touch screen typing a practical thing, unless to place cocktail sticks down your fingernails. I have often repeatedly caught the wrong key and sometimes type a message on the computer and transfer it, but that it not always a convenient option.

I'm wondering do these phone companies really survey the market before launching products. I'm sure if the run a proper survey they will know a lot of people who are ready to purchase good and expensive phones are pushed back because of lack of variety..

According to your case, a QWERTY cellphone is much more suitable for you because you type a lot. But today it seems that this kind of cellphone is outdated and most mobile phone manufacturers sell touch screen cellphones since it is the trend. And this kind of cellphone is much more expensive. But the manufacturers shall also consider some people's need and they shall produce different kinds of cellphones. Here there is a manufacturer that produces the cellphones for the elders. My grandma also bought one for herself. If you can't win a certain of market, you shall think about occupy another market. And the elder customers can be the potential buyers, too.

I think companies are not aware that they are loosing out on lots of customers. mostly people who are older than 25 have that kind of money. and I'm sure people who have crossed 30's would prefer phones which are easier to use, but trendy and advanced at the same time.

yes, I do not like touch screen phones. I think it is a little hard to control when I want to text someone. I like phones with qwert key pad. Maybe like old fashion one. Anyway, just my favorite one.Sometimes, Touch screen phones cannot react quickly. This really makes me irritate.
