Philippines Typhoon....

My heart goes out to all mylot members who live in the Philippines and had to endure the Typhoon. So many are dead or just can't be found. Entire families were washed away. I know they knew it was coming but how can you prepare for that? I don't think anyone could and they had to just sit there and wonder when it was going to happen. The Governor of the worst hit province Compostela Valley in Mindanao said waves of water and mud came crashing down mountains and swept through schools, town halls and clinics where huddled residents had sought shelter. Not knowing much about the Philippines I wonder if that's something that happens often or was this just a fluke and just happened out of no where? How does one get themselves and their families together after such a horrid event? I hope that the majority of mylot members are ok and are going on with their lives.

In our country, some provinces are greatly affected with strong typhoons. It is not likely for them to wish for heavy rains, since destruction will be the outcome. Though my hometown used to be different, living in the mountain areas; we used to have monsoon rains all the time. For some reason, it is fine to have no class during this unexpected rains. We are not commonly affected with flash floods as compared in low land areas.

Every time I read an update about my country, I am always shaking because my families are living there particularly in Surigao where always hit by the typhoons not just once a year but way too many typhoons, earthquakes. I experienced myself from the day I born until I left there. Three days ago, when one of my previous co-worker asking for everybody to pray for the said typhoon. I was so devastated. I never stop of sending message asking my mother if they were okay. My kids and I were praying to God for their safety.

may Good Lord help all those families and people who have been victims of the typhoon.. i really hope for their fast recovery... it so sad to see them in that situation where they are so hopeless.. flash flood happens because of illegal logging and mining.. so hopefully they will banned all those illegal activities to the provinces before something happen like this again in our country..
