Hi mylot friend, I always wish to keep change means small coins and small currency in my pocket, mostly I maintain this but in rare occasions I could not. I do not wish to be in an em-brassing position when the vendor or shop keeper say no change for the big currency.I have seen several people are moving with only big currency only and they may feel that carry small currency and coins is shame I think, what about you?

Sridhar bhaiya I do keep 1/2/5 rupee coins usually ready in hand, most of the time my daughter in law takes them and puts in her piggy-bank; here it seems coins have vanished, if you go to any shop; they never refund the balance like 1 or 2 rupees; but they give lozens/cough drops or chocolates instead we are coming Hyderabad on 1st january

Hi Kalyni Madam, Thanks for the response, how are you and professorji kaise hai. That is right since long time the the shops are not giving small change they are giving us chocolates or candies for change or we ourself's will ask something for the remaining balance. If govt put minimum rate for any item is rupees ten then coins problem will not be there.

HI Vidhyaprakash, Thanks for the response, that's right you are also keeping change when on shopping is small. It is good habit and in buses also written that " co operate with us by offering change' every body will accept change any time. So carry a change of 4 or 5 coins are enough a day while we are on shopping, have a nice day.

Hi yugasini, you are very practical. We sometimes face amber-racing position when we don't carry changes(coins). So we should have some coins in our pocket with big notes.

It is wiser to keep some change whenever going out of home. I generally stay at home, but I always keep some small currency notes and coins with me. It always saves me at times of need. In fact everyone at my home has this habit.

Now my box is full with small coins of 1 , 2 and 5 rupee coins, and a bundle of 10 rupee fresh currency notes and some currency notes of 5 rupee in my bag. Having small change and coins is a necessity when we take public transports or when dealing with purchases in the wet market. It has nothing to do with status - in fact, when you don't have the right change to pay for what you want to buy, it is an utter inconvenience, and embarrassment. I don't feel anything with small change and coins in my pocket. Shame? It is money!

HI JKCT, Thanks for the response, small coins and currency notes are most important in public transport buses. When we give big currency for small distance the conductor will write the balance on the ticket, in hurry we may forget to collect the balance change. So to avoid such things it is better to carry some change and small currency with us always.

hello yugasini. yes, i keep and use coins. these are what i use for fare usually since some drivers do not willingly give change. we usually pay the exact amount. however, for those really small change, i.e. cents, i usually just leave it lying around at home. but i still get to use them for paying bills since they have cents in them. usually, the bill teller does not give change, so it is also wise to give an almost exact amount..

Yes, I always have small currency and coins with me. My spouse and children always leave change around the house. They do not bother to use them, so I am always the one who collect all those coins and I have no hesitation in using them while paying.

I have to with my cafe here. As I change like 50 cents per hour for pc time, and 50 cents per soda drinks here. Everyone seems to try and pay with a dollar. So I always keep change in my desk.

Hi Tootsie, Thanks for the response, you are shop keeper that is your responsibility to keep change and tender change when the cutomer gives you one dollar note. When I am having shop I am keeping small denomination of notes that is 10 rupees from the bank. So people send back the customer to bring the change for the small deal, have a nice day.

Yes, I actually have collected a number of small currency or small coins, small coins usually was underestimated by people, not even considered at all. This may be because the value which is too small. Many do not want to choose the mode of payment with coins let alone a very small coins. There is who refused, some choose not to accept the return with small coins. But actually it can be useful, especially for shop for something which doesn't have a big currency and it's actually kind for the shops which we shopping from if we pay small items with small currency.

HI Randomarts, Thanks for the response, yes most people does not not care for small coins for small tender also they are giving 500 rupee note for even less than 10 rupee trade also. The small vendor or shop keeper does not keep that much change in his shop. So I always prefer exchange the big currency with small currency and offer small currency when the trade is small.
