Employers....Where Are You? We Need You!

Hopefully someone can break this down for me logistically. Many of us on here are finding ways to make money since most of us are trying to make/supplement our income. Jobs are scarce to the limit, and many of us have the skills that are needed. But why do employers drag butt and wane out these hiring processes? What is up?

I agree, we may have all the skills required for a particular/certain type of job but if employers just pick the first applicants that match the requirements of a certain company, Job hunting would become a more first come first serve basis. Some employers tend to group the applicants and not necessarily pick the more skilled applicants, instead they may look for a more flexible applicant, meaning they may pick a person who is able to handle different kinds of working environment - the hiring process such as the interview may detect the weakness/strengths of the applicant whether they are able to cope under pressure if should the working environment become tense or they are confident to speak and lead a team if should a higher ranking official is not present at a period of time. The hiring process may also depend whether if it is a more father+son-type business type or a large industry type which may require confirmation from higher officials which sometimes can take a longer time to process your application(s)

Hello Bluebell, it´s true! At my country government is promoting the self employment. I´ve been employee for two years, and worked by my own since then, 16 years ago. Good luck. Blessings Bluebell... dainy

I don't know in your area, but in the Philippines, the Contractualization disrupted the process of hiring. Employers get employees in the agencies, which the employees are working only for 5 months. not 6 months, in Labor Law in the Philippines, if an employee has been working for the company for 6 months, he is considered a regular employee, and as a regular employee, he is entitled to all the benefits all employees get, sick leave, 13th month pay, vacation leave, and all other mandatory leaves. Having the contractual employees, the employers would not need to hire directly any qualified applicants in which they will be obliged to put in as a regular employee. hmmmm.. does this make sense...
