So everyone's ranting and raving about the Christmas season now. For our company, we are all busy thinking about what we could use as our code names for exchange gifts... =) I am thinking, as well as to what might be a good gift to ask for as my wishlist. I was originally thinking about the bath and body works cologne (cucumber melon) o just a pack of ferrero chocolate, however i am still not happy with those, as i really cannot decide what i really wanted to have. =( I hope all of you can share what you would want to receive this Christmas? :D I would like to see what most wants to have for a gift, and see if i would like them as well. =) Thank you in advance!

It's really difficult to be thinking of what to give for exchange gift specially when it should be unisex, because you don't know who will get you gift from among the male and female employees.
So, how much is the maximum for the exchange gift, chiyosan? Us here, it's for 200 pesos and my wish list is a box of Belgian Chocolates or a silk bathrobe with short sleeves.

yeah, that is really a big amount, but then again, i guess that is okay as it only happens once a year, just to have that feeling of having to give a gift and have your surprises wrapped in papers. =) i got mine already actually and it was just what i have expected. quite a good one. ;)

Wow, that is quite an amount indeed. Here others even don't like the idea of exchange gifts.
We also have our list of wish lists so we can take a look from there what our "baby" likes for the exchange gift.

The wishlist is a great help in buying the gift for our "baby". At least, we know what to give already.

Me too, i don't know either what do i really want to have this Christmas, well i think anything could do at least someone remembers me. As long as i am with my family and i am able to celebrate this special day with them is enough to make me feel happy.

Thank you jeztrose. it is quite hard when it is actually this time around when we think of wish list we cannot think of what we want to request from our partners in exchange gifts. :D but then when we are not having such activities we do have a lot of things in mind! :D hehe

hi there chiyosan.
here in the office, we won't be having an exchange gift. not sure why but i wasn't too keen to be involved in one anyway so it works for me. anyway, one of the supervisors suggested that we have an exchange gift among supervisors and everyone else agreed so i'm joining. there are twelve of us and we picked randomly who will we give gifts to. we set the budget at Php500 so its not expensive at all. we also have a wishlist but since i can't think of anything,i decided to just write down my preferred gift as 'Php500'!!! lol!
i'm just opting for cash. anyway, we will be giving the gifts next week so if i decide to have another gift instead i still have time.the thought of asking for either gift cards or gift certificates crossed my mind but i just want to make it easy for whoever picked out my name in getting me my ideal 'gift'.
cheers and happy mylotting!!!

so just an update.
one of the supervisors, commented that if people would just write down and choose to receive cash instead of an actual gift, he said that we might as well not push through with the exchange gift. of course, he was joking and since jokes are half-meant, i decided to update my wish list and write down a gift instead. i wrote Php500 worth of gift cards or gift certificates from a couple of establishments that i frequent. i also wrote down a pedometer as a possible gift idea.
kinda excited now, knowing that i'll be receiving a gift that i want. incidentally, the person that i'll be getting a gift for hasn't given his wish list yet so i might end up giving him cash instead.
cheers and happy mylotting!!!

hi there allen, oh thank you so much for your response.. and so you have that exchange gift of yours! ;) its been a while because i have been busy as well and at least now i do have the time to be here now. hehe ;) have you already gotten the gift you have requested? was it the one you liked?
For me, i did have the one i requested for and so much more, i requested either of the two, chocolates or the cologne and my gift giver was so gracious enough to give me both!!! =) oh such a wonderful blessing indeed.
you sure have a lot of friends to have an exchange gift with, ha. :) hope you can share with us your experiences of the exchange gifts, and all.

got into another exchange gift, this time, it is with employees within my shift. budget for the gift is slightly lower at Php300. again, i don't have any idea what to ask for so i'm going the gift card/gift cheque route again.
