Since I have my laptop, many times I bring it to my bedroom and half watch TV while I mylot. Today I did not post or answer much. I changed the channel after I saw"Last resort" and there it was: The Godfather. I enjoyed it as if I had never seen it before. When time passes and a movie keeps on being awesome, you know it really has something. I fell in love again with the very young Al Pacino in his role as Michael Corleone. I hadn`t seen a movie with Marlon Brando for many years either. Diana Keaton played a nice Kay, but I think that she has had better roles in later movies. But, after all, this movie is clearly about a world of men. Women are incidental characters. Have you seen this movie? Share your views.

I remember seeing it in the theater, but haven't really had any desire to see it again.

I am so glad you liked the Godfather! It is one of the best gangster films ever made. And yes it is all about the guys and that is why I love it. It has some great lines in it too. Along with violence and love and drama. I hope you get the chance to see Godfather 2,it is even better than the Godfather.

I saw the three of them many years ago, but I had forgotten. I will try to see the other two pictures. I remember Godfather 3 the most.

Wen I was younger, I couldn't care less about this movie, despite the rave reviews. However, it's been shown several times on TV (and its sequels) last year, and decided to watch it. I now know why it was lauded - has a great plot! By the way, wasn't Robert de Niro in it too?

I don`t remember about Robert de Niro if he played in the 2nd or 3rd part. But he didn`t have a role in the first movie. I agree though that he could have been a good addition.

I`m glad that Al Pacino was as charming in real life as he is in films. I think he`s an awesome actor. Another film by him I loved when it was released is Serpico. But I don`t know how that film has aged as I have not seen it again.

Even I have watched today old Hindi Film - Awara. I had seen that movie some years back when I was in school. But today afternoon the was being telecast on Indian Television. I was alone in home and there was no work as such, so I sat to watch the movie. Really even though movie was Black and White I like the story plus the acting of Actor Late Raaj Kapoor and Actress Late Nargis. To talk about the songs they are hit and melodious even today.

Good films age well sometimes. The Godfather is one of them. I liked it very much.

Oh yes. I love The Godfather. I've read the book too by Mario Puzo. It's a brilliant story. I like it that Don Corleone is such a humble man. He started out not as a gangster but rather as the protector of the common people. All he wanted back in return for his help is that the person he helped would remember him when he calls in a favor. That is so brilliant. He doesn't go around terrorizing people for protection money like the gangsters of today. I actually love the character of Don Corleone. And Al Pacino is so young in the movie.

I read the book (and loved it) and I also saw the Godfather films. I agree with you that it didn`t start out as a way to become rich. His people needed protection and he could give it.

This movie was one of the few movies that I have found as good as the book. I always think that movies don`t have time to put all the book has, but there are some exceptions. This is one of them.

Yes, I have seen the Godfather! It is a great classic film indeed and Al Pacino is at his good days, looking younger and nice! Thanks for reminding me, I haven't watched it for sometime, it was on tv recently but I realised it when it was almost ending. I should arrange a "Godfather" night with my bf soon! Have a good day!

That`s one of the bad things about movies on TV: many times you catch them ending. It`s worth watching it from the beginning. I love Al Pacino in many movies. I think I saw him many years ago for the first time in Serpico. But the older Al Pacino is an awesome autor too.

I know that Godfather is really a Great Classic Movie and Al Pacino had rendered his greatest acts on film. However, I didn't get to fancy the film a lot. It has a nice storyline but not good enough for my taste to be watching it over and over again.

I don`t think that I had watched again since I saw it when it was released. That was in 1972. I had forgotten many things after 40 years and I was glad that the movie had aged well.
